SundanceTV announced today that Hap and Leonard has been renewed for a third season. The novel-based anthological drama, which recently wrapped its sophomore run, is currently the cable network's top-rated original series.
Based on Joe R. Lansdale's book series of the same name, Hap and Leonard follows a pair of best friends and amateur investigators who end up on different adventures while working to solve crimes in the late 1980s.
SundanceTV has ordered another six episodes for Season 3, matching the counts from the show's first two seasons. The next season is expected to take its inspiration from the third book in the series entitled 'The Two-Bear Mambo'.
Look for Hap and Leonard's return in 2018.

Glad they'll be back. Season1 was much better than season 2 (More humor in season 1). But even so, season 2 was worth watching.
