No Season 2 for the time travel drama.
May 10, 2017
It is being reported that NBC has cancelled Timeless after its first season. This is sad news for fans of the show, as its final episode in February left with a cliffhanger that will now go unanswered.
The action drama premiered last fall as part of the network's fall line-up with a lot of momentum behind it. The show was created by two veteran producers, had a high profile time slot airing after The Voice on Monday nights, was heavily promoted, and received high critical praise from early reviews. While its premiere episode got off to a solid start, ratings slipped in subsequent weeks leaving only a limited audience who kept tuning in.
Signs the show was in trouble started to become apparent early on. When NBC added additional episodes to the show's freshman run, only three were ordered. Co-creator Eric Kripke also cautioned fans on his Twitter page, writing that its live viewer ratings likely needed to improve to warrant another season.
Timeless followed a team of time travelers who were chasing down a mysterious criminal intent on changing the past in order to destroy America. The team worked to keep up with the dangerous fugitive to stop his path of destruction, while being careful not to let their actions adversely affect the past.

Well, NBC just lost another viewer. Timeless was the only NBC series I made sure to watch.

Didn't they have "professor" change history in the pilot thus making everything she knew about May 6, 1937 on wrong? Yet they still had her tell facts even though she knew she did not know history. Okay maybe they didn't change every fact, but which ones? Time travel is sticky mess either smear it further and don't care like Making History, or be stuck with the problems.

Preemptive GROW UP! "When NBC added additional episodes to the show's freshman run, only three were ordered. Co-creator Eric Kripke also cautioned fans on his Twitter page, writing that its live viewer ratings likely needed to improve to warrant another season."
THE CREATORS OF THE SHOW DECIDED TO LEAVE A CLIFFHANGER NOT NBC. NBC ORDERED MORE.
The reason the show got canned was because the creators hated the fans. they left it on a cliffhanger even after they admitted to knowing it might not return and were given 3 episodes to wrap it up. Fans won't support a show if you won't support them.

I loved this show and Abigail Spencer acting was spot on. They cancel the good ones but we have like 50 Chicago shows that are about the same. Its stupid! Bring back Timeless!!!

Darn, Another sci fi show dies. They often don't last long. But sci fi still has some good ones. the excellent 'the expanse' the silly but fun "killjoys" as well and "12 monkeys' for two more seasons. But at least they showed all the eps unlike 'time after time"
