It was announced today that Schitt's Creek has been renewed for a fifth season. The comedy was picked up by both CBC, its home network in Canada, and by Pop for US audiences. The good news comes midway through the show's fourth-season run.
Co-created by Eugene Levy and his son Daniel, the show follows a formerly-wealthy couple who are forced to rebuild their lives using their only remaining asset of a small town they purchased in the 90's as a joke.
The show has continued its solid performance for Pop, becoming its most-watched 'Live+same day' original series. The current season is up double digits in both viewers and young adults over last year.
14 new episodes have been ordered for Season 5 of Schitt's Creek, a small increase of one over all of its past seasons. Look for a premiere in winter 2019. For now, new episodes are airing Wednesday nights with the season finale scheduled for April 11.
