April 18, 2018
CBS announced today that Madam Secretary has been renewed for a fifth season. The political drama, which stars Téa Leoni as the Secretary of State, has seen its ratings decline considerably the past few years but has remained a Sunday night staple nevertheless.
Look for Season 5 of Madam Secretary this fall.

It is the best and most heartwarming showing have seen in a long time. Tea leoni is amazing and so is Tim Daly. There
so much chemistry between them.
Wish the show would last at least 15 seasons
Magnificent!!!
Let the show go on!!!!!

Great show that often seems to parallel Trump's antics and highlights the current administration's incompetence. They do not always solve the problem at hand but do a moral vision that is lacking today.

OK show, Tea Leoni is the bright spot and handles the continual lib preachiness of her roles dialogue. The children are oh so sweet and the rest of the cast balance each other. The new female role added in 2017-18 season is irritating and a bad fit. The geopolitical situations that arise each season would normally occur over maybe 1000 yrs of history but to keep the show suspenseful must occur constantly. Of course the show partly tries to reflect today’s political headlines and clearly leans left. Also, of course, the show gives the one side only version of the truth as MSM presents. Not anyone on the right to give the show spice or reflection. Her husband began as a vehicle for that area but the shows writer caved. That is why ratings are steadily lower. Teas role has evolved from an interesting multilayered woman of intelligence, wit, vision, wisdom, strength, character and understanding in the 1st Season to a haranging, preachy, depressed, whiner by the 4th. The best quality of a wonderful witty sense of humor was slowly smothered out which smothered the strength from her character. It also wounded the soul of the show eventually killing it.

We are new to watching because we miss Designated Survivor which will be off until next season. We watch 2 each night to catch up. WOW! what a great cast and show.

Superb show with great cast and intelligent writing. Looking forward to next season. It's also helpful that the two central characters are romantically involved.

I was worried that it might have been cancelled after last night's story line - for a minute it was so final. Grateful that it wasn't. Next year's season will be great.

After last night's season finale, which was unbelievable but very real, I thought they had been cancelled because of the way it ended. I am grateful that it hasn't. I can't wait for next season to see her run for President. Great storyline.
