The comedy will return this fall.

Word is out this morning that ABC has renewed Speechless for a third season. Star Minnie Driver took to Twitter with good news, which comes a little over a month after the comedy's sophomore season finale.
The half-hour series has been a pretty good performer for the network as part of its comedy lineup on Wednesday nights. While its Season 2 ratings aren't quite what they were during its freshman run, the show still draws a fairly consistent audience week after week.
Speechless stars Mini Driver as a devoted mother who puts her husband and three kids first, one of whom - her eldest child - has special needs. As she battles injustices, both real and perceived, the family looks for a fresh start after moving into their new home.
Word is that 22 episodes have been ordered for Season 3, which is an increase of four over Season 2. Look for a premiere this fall.

One of the best shows I have ever seen. Characters are endearing, good writing, and Minnie dryver is brilliant. I love this show but Idk where it can go from here. Follow JJ to college? Without Kenneth? Or his mum? It's going to take some excellent writing to pull off a season 4

Gave up on the show this season, still seemed a little to preachy to me and far better offering available.

So thrilled it has been renewed. There's only a few shows with stars with special needs (there needs to be more!) My brother has cerebral palsy too so I relate to the show so much, I love JJ and Kenneth!

I think the show got better in Season 2. The first season was a bit preachy and condescending. Now it's more sitcomy, which is OK by me. I could watch a show staring Minnie Driver where she just sits at a table reading the newspaper. She's great. The season highlight was the "Golden Ticket" song/dance.
But the kids are growing up fast. That usually spells death for family based sitcoms.

Also the spelling of Minnie Driver. She isn’t a clown car operator.

Renewal of this series proves that studios, especially Disney/ABC is run by brain dead morons. I am still to find the funny factor in the situations in a SIT-COM. I am hoping it will get better but it fails me in every episode.

So happy this got renewed, they deserve it.
I Love this show. Every single cast member is doing a fantastic job.

>Renewed for season 2
While its Season 2 ratings aren't quite what they were during its freshman run, the show still draws a fairly consistent audience week after week.
You might want to fix that for Renewed for season 3.
