No Season 3 for the Kevin James comedy.
May 12, 2018
It is being reported that CBS has cancelled Kevin Can Wait after two seasons. Andy Fickman, an executive producer on the show, broke the news with a post to his Instagram account, thanking his cast, crew, and writers.
The comedy starred Kevin James in his first leading role on television since his nine-year stint on The King of Queens. He played a recently-retired police officer looking forward to having more free time to spend with his family and friends. But when his oldest daughter decides to drop out of college, Kevin puts his plans on hold and moves her and her fiancé into his home so that she can stay in school.
The half-hour series was a decent performer on Monday nights, though ratings slipped during its sophomore run after the show replaced original cast member Erinn Hayes, who played Kevin's wife, with Leah Remini, who previously co-starred with James on The King of Queens.
The show's final episode, now its series finale, aired just last week.

He shouldn't have thrown his weight around and fired the actress who played his wife, she was good. I think he lost a lot of viewers because that was underhanded.

First season was great. Second season was hit and miss. Third season should have been given a chance with the garbage on TV that was renewed

I enjoyed the first season, but the lastest season was almost unwatchable... I like Leah Remini, but this was just horrible, the kids was awkward... I’m mourning for Superior Donuts.... I wish they would be coming back...

I love them both and was excited they were working together again. I tried watching Kevin Can Wait during the first season and thought the wife was a mismatch. When they brought Leah, I thought okay this could work. But I think not addressing how his wife died was not a good idea. Plus, last week's episode was terrible. I didn't laugh once. I don't know who the writers were but there definitely was not the same magic between Kevin and Leah.

I'm okay with this. They never should've dropped the wife. The both of them being equally goofy made it a more unique premise. Dropping her and going back to the same old goofy guy/nagging woman dynamic as so many other shows (esp. King of Queens) made it boring. I'm a Leah Remini fan but we didn't need a King of Queens sequel.

Well now that they are free from it. I bet my 2 testicles that the revival of The King of Queens is a for sure thing coming. i think i'd watch that.

This is the best show on CBS, better than all the crap they renewed! We need Netflix to step in and pick up this show!!!!
