No Season 3 for the workplace comedy.
May 12, 2018
It is being reported that Superior Donuts has been cancelled after two seasons. The sad news comes just days before the comedy's planned sophomore finale, which will now act as its series ender.
The half-hour series premiered early last year as a mid-season entry, performing well enough to earn itself a Season 2 pickup. But after being moved to the network's regular fall schedule, the show couldn't maintain its momentum, especially during the back-half of its run.
Superior Donuts stars Judd Hirsch as an old-school owner of a Chicago donut shop that hasn't changed since it first opened in 1969. And as his shop has stayed frozen in time, the neighborhood around it is changing. But now starting to fall on hard times, he starts to let his enterprising young employee help bring his business into the 21st century.
The series finale of Superior Donuts airs this Monday, May 14.

This is totally stupid. It was easily the best Monday night comedy.

The first season had a delightful blend of grumpy old guy teaming with young dude. Familiar funny with sharp zingers and little warmth mixed in.
Then, second season became tired old sitcom drivel. I'm surprised they didn't have a rimshot after each thudding "joke". We sadly gave up after four episodes.
