The cancelled drama's story will get a proper conclusion.
July 31, 2018
Just over a month after NBC broke the hearts of #Clockblockers by cancelling Timeless for a second time, it has been confirmed that the show will indeed be returning for a two-part series finale.
The news will surely delight fans of the time travel drama, who were left hanging after a major cliffhanger at the end of its sophomore run. At the time of its cancellation, there were rumors of a possible return to properly wrap up its story but the likelihood of it actually happening was unknown.
Timeless premiered in 2016 with a good amount of momentum behind it. Created by two veteran producers, the series was given a high profile time slot on Monday nights along with heavy promotion. While it was well-received by critics, a solid start in the ratings was not long-lasting, and the show was cancelled for the first time at the end of its freshman run.
NBC eventually had a change of heart and decided to bring the show back for a second season, but its sophomore numbers only further declined. It wasn't much of a surprise when the network cancelled the show once again, but fans were nonetheless upset. And while a third season will not be happening, this two-part finale will provide at least a sense of closure.
Look for the Timeless series finale to air sometime during the holiday season.

Truth ... no they didn't have 10 hrs to wrap up. They treated as a real season... that's what you do to work towards another. If you wrap up everything you have NO hopes of a renewal! Maybe we should have more cop shows...um...NO..
More reality shows... um...NO. there's enough of that crap already.

B.E , Shows need a ending, fans want a ending. That's life. That's why we are grateful for this movie.

Didn't NBC already give the creators 10 hours to wrap up th story? NBC is being the better person here. It is nice of them to give the creators a chance to fix their mistake. We all know that the creators will probably leave it on a cliffhanger again. I mean if 10 hours wasn't enough to finish it, why would 2 hours more be enough?
If the creators wanted the story wrapped up they would have done it during the 2nd season. (a cancellation then renewal is a good sign your not getting a 3rd season. you go season by season after that)

Who cares! The show was on, then canceled, then on again, then canceled again! Now they expect us to watch again, just let it die! The show wasn't that good to begin with & I should've known better then to watch a science fiction show on network tv, they never last..

I am shocked. This is astonishing that these stars and the public were able to lobby for this to happen, amazing.

Shame to see yet another good show ended - but I am glad to see that NBC (No Brains Channel) is smart enough to finish it the right way.

Ahhh so happy we're getting a proper ending, it's still sad to see it go but at least we won't be left hanging!
