Freeform announced today at TCA that Grown-ish has been renewed for a third season. The early pickup comes midway through the comedy's sophomore run, which has continued to fare well for the cable network.
Premiering early this year, the show's second season has kept up the momentum generated during Season 1. It currently ranks as the #1 cable comedy in the women 18-49 and females 12-34 demographics, and is garnering similar critical praise.
A spin-off of ABC's Black-ish, which is currently in its fifth season, Grown-ish follows the family's eldest daughter Zoey, who has headed off to college. Beginning her journey to adulthood will have its ups and downs as she does her best to navigate the messy world of campus life.

I stopped watching earlier this season when her phone was dying and she was having the nerve to ask strangers for a charger. Then to make matters worse, the show mocked panic attacks. That was the last straw for me. It's 2019, we're supposed to end stigmas about mental health. Shame on the show.

Season 2 is almost unwatchable. Zoey is such a self-absorbed millennial. She spent an entire episode being mad because no one considered her a genius. C'mon.

I like this show a lot. I hope they continue to develop the characters.
