The cop drama will reach a decade on the air in 2020.
April 12, 2019
CBS announced today that Blue Bloods has been picked up for a tenth season. The news comes with four episodes remaining in the police drama's current season, and coincides with star Tom Selleck signing a one-year deal to stay on with the show for 2019-2020.
The veteran series has been a Friday night staple on the network, where year after year it continues to garner consistently-healthy ratings that best its time slot competition. Its impressively-long run will hit 199 episodes at the end of Season 9, with its forthcoming fall premiere reserved for its milestone 200th.
Blue Bloods follows the Police Commissioner of New York, who runs his department in the same diplomatic manner he runs his family, even when dealing with the politics that plagued his father during his stint as Chief.

I know this isn’t the type of show with flashbacks and multiple timelines usually but before it is over, it would be amazing if they did one episode dedicated to the lost Raegan son, Joe.
We hear about him here and there but one episode dedicated to his life... and death would be a welcome close for this character who was a major part of the family at some point in the past.

I never miss an episode. The story lines are dynamic. Can't wait for Friday nights.

10 might be the last season. Tom Selleck would only sign for 1 more season. Wouldn't be the same show without him.

This is welcome news. This show just keeps getting better and better.
While the premise of a single family at the center of law and order in NY is pure hokum, the stories and characterization give us a view of law and order in NY from the street to the highest level of the police commissioner. It's never been afraid to tackle complex issues and the characters are complex and fallible.

I can see Blue Bloods continuing for many more seasons. I especially like their dinners. Eddy has been gotten and given back just as well. The comic relief is a nice addition. All of the characters are written disagreeing with others, but that doesn't lead to petty fights or loss of respect. That is a nice change from most shows.

This show is great. I'm very glad that it got renewed for a 10th season. If it haden't, I would have to snap away CBS. Commissioner Reagan and his sons are great examples of REAL men, and not a skinny-pants wearing, whinny, snow-flake, limp-wristed "men" of today. If only I could choose who I snap away, it'd be those sissies!
Trumpos OUT!

Just another cop show milking the same story over and over.

I disagree 100% with Kim. Jaime and Eddy been having chemistry since the beginning.
Glad it happened already. To more seasons I love the show.

Love this show. So glad it got renewed. Just wish they wouldn't have felt the need to put Jamie and Eddy together. I don't feel any chemistry with these two characters, other than being partners. I'll continue to watch, unless they jump the shark.
