CBS announced today that Blue Bloods has been renewed for Season 14. The news arrives with six episodes left until the police drama's 13th-season finale, which is scheduled to air May 19.
The veteran series has been a Friday night staple on the network, where it consistently continues to garner healthy ratings that make it the night's #1 primetime program. Today's pickup will see the show climb to within a handful of episodes of the 300-episode milestone.
"Blue Bloods has dominated Friday nights since its premiere and remained an important anchor for CBS' winning lineup," said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment. "Led by the outstanding Tom Selleck and an incredible cast and creative team, viewers continue to embrace the Reagans, their law enforcement family and the series' dramatic storytelling. We can't wait to pull a chair up to the Reagan family dinner table for another fantastic season."
Blue Bloods stars Selleck as Frank Reagan, the Police Commissioner of New York, who runs his department in the same diplomatic manner he runs his family, even when dealing with the politics that plagued his father during his stint as Chief. His three grown children also work in various branches of law enforcement. While their lives keep them busy, they all manage to gather together every week for Sunday dinner.
Look for Season 14 of Blue Bloods this fall as part of the 2023-2024 season.

I recently rewatched the pilot episode. In many ways it's a different series.
Tom Selleck has more gravitas in his little finger than the majority of younger actors on television.
