A drama following a multi-generational family of New York City cops.
Frank Reagan is the Police Commissioner of New York and head of the Reagan clan. He tries to run his department in the same diplomatic manner he runs his family, even when dealing with the politics that plagued his father during his stint as Chief.
Frank's eldest son Danny is a seasoned detective and family man who, at times, uses dubious tactics to investigate his cases. The sole female in the family is Erin, an Assistant District Attorney and newly single mother, who also serves as the legal compass for her siblings and father.

Please don’t cancel! I was going to start off my comment by asking CBS the question, “Are you stupid or what?”. But decided better of it. I’ve watched all the seasons at least 4 times. I’ve only done that with NYPD Blue, Law & Order franchises, Downton Abbey and Bosch (and Bosch Legacy). This is a great show especially for we viewers how have a modicum of decency. There is so much crap on TV.

Every good thing comes to an end. Unfortunately all the crap (Family Guy, The Simpsons, etc) stays around forever. Blue Bloods will be missed once they complete the series.

Anyone attacking law enforcement for doing their jobs are attacking civilized society by proxy. You endanger law enforcement, you endanger the public. Those who throw bottles, feces, blood, or other dangerous instruments at law enforcement (I'm talking about real life now) deserve to get "thumped".....

Nothing wrong with what they did in that episode. Can't have thugs bullying cops and getting away with it. It showed police unity. The commissioner has the backs of his officers. My favorite episode this season.

Just finished watching the “Authorities” episode- I’m done. We have watched Blue Bloods since it’s first episode and have loved it. But an episode where the police essentially use martial law is not acceptable. You just lost 2 viewers tonight.
