The veteran drama will continue in 2022-2023.

CBS announced today that Blue Bloods has been renewed for a 13th season. The good news arrives two episodes ahead of the police drama's Season 12 finale, which is scheduled to air May 6.
The veteran series has been a Friday night staple on the network, where it consistently continues to garner healthy ratings that top its time slot competition. The show recently surpassed the 250-episode milestone.
Blue Bloods follows the Police Commissioner of New York, who runs his department in the same diplomatic manner he runs his family, even when dealing with the politics that plagued his father during his stint as Chief.
Look for Season 13 of Blue Bloods this fall as part of the 2022-2023 season.

Love this show. Not sure I agree that “Eddie has run her course”. How about she becomes a detective… might be interesting, as Jamie remains a uniformed cop!

Totally awesome show. The only thingI'd d change to shake it up a bit,is Eddie has been called on to take on a new career upgrade far away and decides to take it. On her own. Her character as Eddie has run its course. Stalemating to becoming boring. She's a great actress and would love to see a change for her in a different show. You go girl!

In a world of uncertainty, I'm positive Frank Reagan can solve any world problem while they have Sunday dinner.

Well, I for one cast my vote for the "should be renewed forever" camp. With all the war, pandemics, rising cost of living, etc. going on these days, it's nice to sit down for an hour of TV that doesn't have a warning at the start of each segment about all the stuff that "viewer discretion is advised" about.

Whew !! All season they have been trying to give Frank Regan a new job but he keeps turning them down. I thought for sure it meant the show was ending.

I think you missed my point. The show is not just about good cop vs. bad cops or liberal vs. conservative. It's about a family. All the other stuff is peripheral and not important. It's about the family and catching bad guys, which is true of most police shows regardless of their supposed leanings. People get too caught up in the binary of us vs. them rather than just focusing on characters and story. If a show is written well, I might disagree with their take, but I'll enjoy the show for what it is.

@Sigh it would be nice if all shows completely avoided politics but they don't. And more than 9 times out of 10 the show runners jump on the bandwagon du jour, that being liberal nonsense. When a show decides to go the other way, it is admirable because they aren't afraid of the consequences that come with it.
