No Season 3 for the mid-season comedy.
May 24, 2019
Word is out tonight that NBC has cancelled A.P. Bio after two seasons. The news was confirmed by series creator Mike O'Brien, who took to social media to express his sadness that the "favorite project" of his life would not see a third season.
Produced by Seth Meyers, the comedy premiered in 2018 as a mid-season entry that ultimately garnered mixed reviews and underwhelming ratings. Still it was renewed for a second go-round, though its sophomore run has only seen viewership taper off even further.
The half-hour series follows a philosophy scholar who, after losing out on his dream job, takes a position as a high school Advanced Placement Biology teacher. But he has plans far beyond teaching biology, including using his classroom full of honor roll students to help him mentally break his job-stealing nemesis and win back the position that he feels is rightfully his.

Ultimately this show was done in by the unlikability of the lead character. Most of the supporting cast were foils for his schemes and pathetic attempts at revenge for perceived wrongs. At times there were flashes of humor, but it was never sustained.

First season was good. Second season couldn't keep me interested after the first episode.

I'm a big fan of Glenn Howerton's so I'm disappointed. His character was a bit like Dennis Reynolds from IASIP. I like the sure, but sure, cancel it so that we can make room for riveting shows like "are you smarter than a 5th grader" and "mental samurai."

This was a great show and so funny:)
I am sad that it is gone. Great multi-story line. NBC is missing out on a great show.

I tried so hard to like this show, but the main character was just so unlikeable I just couldn’t watch it anymore. Some of the kids cracked me up, as did Patton Oswald and the lady at the front desk, but watching this show generally felt like a chore.

Maybe “Oswalt Patton” ???? Is a crappy actor lol, but I enjoyed
Patton Oswalt and the rest of the cast in the show.

@John Anderson. Canceled shows free up air time for new hopefully better shows. Common sense.

There’s already a strong push for this show to be brought back on another network. Good to hear. It’s an enjoyable show with a very talented cast.

How did this ever get approved in the first place?! Network TV reeks of desperation, all of the talented writers jumped ship long ago. Welcome to the millennial world.

Thank God. Stopped watching this show long ago. Crappy show and Oswalt Patton is a crappy actor."
Will never understand why people care so much that a show they stopped watching got cancelled. Like - it doesn't effect your life either way.
