The comedy will move to NBCU's upcoming streaming service.
July 17, 2019
Word is out that NBC Universal is reviving A.P. Bio for a third season on its upcoming streaming service. The good news comes two months after the comedy was cancelled following two low-rated seasons on NBC.
Created by Mike O'Brien and produced by Seth Meyers, the comedy premiered in 2018 as a mid-season entry that ultimately garnered mixed reviews and underwhelming viewership. Still, it was renewed for a second go-round, though its sophomore run did not improve its fortunes and it was axed in June.
Today's revival makes A.P. Bio the first confirmed original series on the as-yet-unnamed streaming service, which is set to debut sometime in 2020. While the show's return date has not been announced, Season 3 will likely premiere when the service launches.
The half-hour series follows a philosophy scholar who, after losing out on his dream job, takes a position as a high school Advanced Placement Biology teacher. But he has plans far beyond teaching biology, including using his classroom full of honor roll students to help him mentally break his job-stealing nemesis and win back the position that he feels is rightfully his.

I got excited to see it was revived, but highly disappointed that it's for streaming only. What is with all these paid streaming services? It's ridiculous and very expensive and causes tons of people to not be able to watch what they used to watch that was on tv. If something starts on tv it needs to continue on tv to keep viewers and fans happy. I am NOT happy with this move. Too many things have left tv and gone to expensive streaming. Who wants to watch everything on a teeny computer screen with bad sound? What's the point of owning a tv if everything is going to streaming? You also can't live in a rural area and stream either. These companies are losing lots of viewers with these moves. Bad idea.

Wait, another streaming service!? Pretty soon it will be cheaper to have cable / satellite than to cut the cord.

I'm glad to see it getting a second life though I doubt I will be subscribing to the streaming service. This show had a very uneven first season, mainly because of the meanness of the lead character. They toned it down for the second season, added some good secondary characters and gave the students more to do. The end result was that a few of the second season shows were hilarious.

If you pay for streaming services.. you're a sucker.. it's all free on the web. I see every Netflix, Hulu, CBS All Access,, etc shows and haven't paid a dime. NBCs streaming service will be no different. In fact, there's practically nothing which airs anywhere that you can't get for free on the web with pretty much a simple Google search.

I agree with Lise. I do not think this will save the show. I really enjoyed it and watched every episode, but I do not subscribe to any streaming services, so I will not be watching it going forward. Very sad. Unfortunately, I think it will lose many of the fans it had on free tv.

@Lise - Agreed! We already have DirecTv, Netflix and Hulu. I loved AP Bio, but not paying for ANOTHER streaming service.
And the people confused about the colors -- those are the school colors. My school was purple and yellow - and I was sick of it after 12 years there. So yeah, that is how schools are.. :-)
Happy Viewing. Wish this was on USA or TBS or something...

Love the show, glad it’s been picked up. So pissed it’s on a streaming service!!! Hey NBC if you believe in the show keep it where the people who supported it are, don’t put it on a pay extra streaming service. I already pay way too much for DirecTV, Netflix, everything else so I’m not adding your new streaming service to my list of bills. Too bad because I loved this show and now it’s still as good as cancelled.
