No Season 2 for the counterintelligence thriller.
May 30, 2019
It is being reported that The Enemy Within has been cancelled after its first season. The thriller premiered in February for a 13-episode run that concluded with its now-series finale on May 20.
The show got off to a decent start in the ratings over its first few episodes, but viewers seemed to lose interest as the weeks wore on. Reception from critics was generally mixed, with no real glowing praise to garner additional buzz.
The Enemy Within followed brilliant former CIA operative Erica Shepherd, who became known as the most notorious traitor in American history after betraying her country. While serving a life sentence in a Supermax prison, Erica is contacted by FBI Agent Will Keaton, who has reluctantly turned to her for help in tracking down a dangerous criminal.

I enjoyed this show. It certainly deserved a second season.

I'm not surprised. I was one of the people who gave it a chance the first handful of episodes, and then it was boring even as background noise. It turned into me only caring about Erica's relationship with daughter Hannah. This is just another show that I stopped watching during its season and it ended up being cancelled.

WOW thanks NBC! I watched & loved every episode!!!!! Maybe they'll remake yet another successful show from the 90's and drive their last of their remaining viewers to Hulu & Netflix.

I’ve watched several episodes and was still watching. I am not surprised it got cancelled, it is much better than most of the programs NBC doesn’t cancel. I find the timing of cancellations quite interesting. Sometimes, like for this one, the cancellation is announced quickly. For most, they procrastinate or something for what seems like a year before they cancel. It’s a BS process because we are left with no endings for the majority of dramas. Which is a sin because audience is treated like saps.
I do not plan to ever get Netflix (as others are suggesting) because they are unnecessarily political - today I heard they are planning to boycott US film locations (remove productions from entire states) because of abortion laws. I do not know if I agree with the laws involved because I do not believe abortion is murder (and it’s not my point). US corporations should not boycott US citizens in partisan actions and it’s unforgivable when they ignore their proclaimed concerns in their ongoing businesses in foreign countries. Take a look at the laws of foreign countries where Netflix regularly produces their shows. US citizens should boycott a company like Netflix.

Agree!!!!!!!!!! I'm pissed!!! Any new shows they preview on those networks I don't even bother to watch anymore--straight to Amazon and Netflix for me--even Hulu.

Very upsetting!!! I could see hulu or netflix adding WC... Scor Foley was in The unit (Hulu) and Walking dead is on Netflix. I really liked the goofy humer they mixed in. My only complaint is Ray and Susans personal relationship on the show. And I loved Cohan talking with her natural accent. So Hot!!!#

I agree with all the other comments, this just makes me want to watch Netflix even more. I really liked the premise of this show and thought it had the potential to go further. I am so sick of all junk that is on TV

The faster they destroy new shows , the more people will flee to Netflix. Because they just slash and burn. instead of giving them a chance. At least the gifted got 3 seasons. Which shows that network tries harder.
