No Season 3 for the procedural drama.
August 17, 2019
Some sad news for Instinct fans this morning, as word is out that CBS has cancelled the procedural drama after two seasons. Series creator Michael Rauch took to Twitter to make the announcement, which comes with three episodes remaining in the show's run.
The hour-long series premiered last year as a mid-season entry. Airing Sunday nights, the show struggled in the ratings amid tough competition. CBS even briefly pulled it from the schedule, prompting a cancellation scare, but ended up issuing a renewal instead. The show returned this June for a summer sophomore run, but viewership this time around has tapered off substantially.
Instinct stars Alan Cumming and Bojana Novakovic in her first TV lead role. Cumming plays Dr. Dylan Reinhart, a former CIA operative who teams up with Novakovic's detective Lizzie Needham after his first book is used by a serial killer to commit his crimes. Though Dylan and Lizzie initially butt heads, they soon realize that they make a great team if they learn to trust their instincts.
Three episodes remain in Instinct's run. Back-to-back episodes are scheduled to air this Sunday, with the series finale set for Sunday, August 25.

CBS should stand for...Certainly Boring Station. That is what is it going to be now that it cancelled another great show. I loved watching this show. So, what are they keeping on? I won't be tuning into this station. If I could CANCEL CBS on my cable network I would.

Very sad. Not often that my husband likes shows that I do. This one is good the female role was tough enough without being gruff and rude. So many are trying to prove something and just seem angry. The gay and other relationships were fine and not overdone.
I think these days all they want, and maybe it’s what the audience wants is porn, extreme foul language and who can be the toughest. I like good detective type shows. Don’t need porn and anger. And for god sakes quit with the effin reality love shows. They are just krap!

This is so unsurprising. Maybe Instinct wasn't super original, but at least it was a show worth watching. CBS only cares about putting out more reality garbage that appeals to someone, just not me.

Once again networks cancel great shows, and keep reality junk tv going. At some point there won't be any fun, procedural shows, and only love dramas that DO NOT represent reality no matter how many times it's called reality tv.

Are you effin kidding me???? Will NEVER watch CBS again! Keep putting on s..t like Love Island or some other crappy reality show and keep taking off shows that purely entertain us and dont require deep thought. Loved these two stars together and hope another SMARTER net work picks it up.
