No Season 3 for the procedural drama.

Some sad news for Instinct fans this morning, as word is out that CBS has cancelled the procedural drama after two seasons. Series creator Michael Rauch took to Twitter to make the announcement, which comes with three episodes remaining in the show's run.
The hour-long series premiered last year as a mid-season entry. Airing Sunday nights, the show struggled in the ratings amid tough competition. CBS even briefly pulled it from the schedule, prompting a cancellation scare, but ended up issuing a renewal instead. The show returned this June for a summer sophomore run, but viewership this time around has tapered off substantially.
Instinct stars Alan Cumming and Bojana Novakovic in her first TV lead role. Cumming plays Dr. Dylan Reinhart, a former CIA operative who teams up with Novakovic's detective Lizzie Needham after his first book is used by a serial killer to commit his crimes. Though Dylan and Lizzie initially butt heads, they soon realize that they make a great team if they learn to trust their instincts.
Three episodes remain in Instinct's run. Back-to-back episodes are scheduled to air this Sunday, with the series finale set for Sunday, August 25.

My husband and I both like this show, which is highly unusual !! A different format from most of the detective shows on TV and fun to watch !! CBS, you wouldn't recognize a good show if it hit you over the head !! Now replace this with more reality garbage !!

Watched it regularly, because it was so bad it was entertaining. Alan Cumming -- former CIA agent, professor and best selling author, yea, that's believable -- gets to help the LEOs solve murders. It was Gay Castle. (As opposed to The Mentalist, aka Grifter Castle; or Bones, aka Freaks and Geeks Castle; or Elementary aka Baker St. Castle.) In fact, one episode from the first season, apparently appropriated a script from Bones -- I was amazed it saw the light of day again after that fiasco.
But this masterpiece, it was as if someone had fed every bad cop show cliche, every stereotype -- of police detectives, tough women, female bosses, gays, professors, disgruntled lawyers, etc., and every sample of bad dialog into Deep Blue, and asked it to spit out a couple dozen episodes. Oh, and be sure to add Sayid from Lost in a role that seems completely contrived amidst a sea of contrivances. It felt at every moment that it was something that we had seen before, only not as good as the original.

I am starting to hate CBS. They cancel the good shows and play crap like Love Island and similar distasteful shows. They have a good show with good actors and a great story line and they cancel it. It just makes me so mad.

Once again a major network strikes out. Wonderful show.extremely disappointed in its cancellation. And to those who made nasty comments. My guess is your didn’t understand the humor it’s subtle n or the story line at all. My guess you are part of the American public who voted for $$$$$. Hopefully we will see this group of writers return and actors land fun and new exciting roles in the near future.

@Jeff K. Bojana Novakovic was the only thing good about this show. I'd love to see her in another show.
