No Season 3 for the procedural drama.

Some sad news for Instinct fans this morning, as word is out that CBS has cancelled the procedural drama after two seasons. Series creator Michael Rauch took to Twitter to make the announcement, which comes with three episodes remaining in the show's run.
The hour-long series premiered last year as a mid-season entry. Airing Sunday nights, the show struggled in the ratings amid tough competition. CBS even briefly pulled it from the schedule, prompting a cancellation scare, but ended up issuing a renewal instead. The show returned this June for a summer sophomore run, but viewership this time around has tapered off substantially.
Instinct stars Alan Cumming and Bojana Novakovic in her first TV lead role. Cumming plays Dr. Dylan Reinhart, a former CIA operative who teams up with Novakovic's detective Lizzie Needham after his first book is used by a serial killer to commit his crimes. Though Dylan and Lizzie initially butt heads, they soon realize that they make a great team if they learn to trust their instincts.
Three episodes remain in Instinct's run. Back-to-back episodes are scheduled to air this Sunday, with the series finale set for Sunday, August 25.

Agree with Mark that Alan Cumming is largely unlikeable as a character. The best shows that get renewed have writers that create likeable characters that audiences can relate to. Cumming's character continued his effete snobery over from Good Wife. An appliance box with cut-out, a couple of hand puppets and a script written by a 5 year-old would be more enjoyable. Bring Bojana Novakovic back however into a series worthy of her talents.

Good riddance. It was just a thinly veiled pro-gay show. From Hollywood it's either that or anti-gun like Elementary, which was also garbage.

Good! This was just another generic cop show. So happy it's gone now. Please replace it with something more original.

Another show I enjoy has been cancelled. At this rate, I might as well give up on broadcast TV.

I am so sad. I really liked this show. Was a different kind of criminal solving type show than others on the networks. Please Netflix, pick this show up for another season to at least conclude the storyline.

@sherry 4.5 viewer rating on here doesnt mean much. It's a 6.5 on imdb from 4,753 votes. Equivalent of a 3 here, so these rating dont mean much. It simply wasnt a good show, far too many police procedurals with recycled ideas.
Good Riddance, hopefully they pick up somethin worth watching but your probably right abouit them creating more reality garbage. Blame the viewers not the networks, reality shows are cheaper to make and if people still tune in they would be stupid not to produce the cheap garbage the masses love to consume.
Its all about making money after all. Just hoping we get lucky and get a decent show to next season.

Are you serious. They manage to keep shows that sometimes pretty bad, won’t name them, but they can’t keep a funny interesting show. I want to write to them.

How does a show with a 4.5 viewer rating get canceled but a dumb reality show with a 2.5 viewer rating get renewed ???? CBS is blowing it.

I gave up after season 1. I did not like Alan Cumming. I didn't like him in the Good Wife either. Both were very unlikable characters.
