October 22, 2019
CBS announced today that Carol's Second Act has been topped up with additional episodes to give it a full season. The good news comes four episodes into the comedy's freshman run. While the exact number of episodes has not been divulged, it is expected to be between five and nine on top of its original order of 13.
The half-hour series stars Patricia Heaton as Carol Kenney, a middle aged woman who has had a successful teaching career, raised her children, and been through a divorce. Now at age 50 she is embarking on a unique second act and pursuing her dream of becoming a doctor.

I love every show that Patricia Heaton has been in. I miss The Middle & watch Everybody Loves Raymond reruns. Hope they keep this show, because she is great!

A real suckfest! Please make it "Carol's final act" and bring on something new!

LOVE Patricia Heaton in Everybody Loves Raymond and she was well deserving of her multiple Emmy Awards for that show, but this show just doesn't have it from the plot to the writing to the acting.
The supporting cast is especially awful! And like many others who say the same, the laugh track is absolutely annoying. When you have to be reminded where to laugh, it's a tell-tale sign it's not a good show.
I watched the first two episodes and I'm out. I'm going back to watching the reruns of ELR which is far superior and more enjoyable to watch than this.
Either scrap the current plot and start over or simply cancel and move on.

I liked Everybody Loves Raymond and I LOVED The Middle. I even bought The Middle on DVDs. But this show is awful! It is not realistic and not at all funny. It is just so lame! I hate when actors produce a show that they are in and they put their character on a pedestal... they are either smarter or more talented or more desirable than anyone else on the show.

I gave up watching after about four episodes. There was no point, the characters just aren't interesting.
It makes me long for the days of "Everybody Loves Raymond" and "The Middle". But most people don't get two hits like that, getting a third was asking too much.

Axe this show and revive "The Middle"
That show was leaps and bounds better than anything else on Network TV right now!

This is the least funny show I've ever watched, and I've watched a few.

I really like Patricia Heaton, but don't think this show is very funny !! Also the laugh track is so loud and annoying, it takes away from what little funny material there is !!

Ugh...this show really sucks. I love Patricia, but this show is so stupid, lacks smart humor and never even makes me smile. I don't understand why it got picked up for a full season. What happened to the talent of writing half hour comedy shows?

Another dumb CBS show gets picked up for a full season. CBS must be lacking on replacement shows.
