The latest entry in the franchise will return for Season 2.
December 16, 2019
It is being reported that Star Trek: Picard has been picked up by CBS All Access for a second season. The good news comes five weeks ahead of the sci-fi drama's debut on the streaming service, and comes in the wake of the series being selected to receive a tax credit towards a new season from the California Film Commission.
Star Trek: Picard is the second entry in the storied franchise to launch on CBS All Access, following 2017's Star Trek: Discovery, which will be heading into its third season next year.
Picard takes place 20 years after the events that occurred in 2002's Star Trek: Nemesis. With life in the galaxy vastly different since the dissolution of the Romulan Empire, retired admiral Jean-Luc Picard embarks on the next chapter of his life.
Star Trek: Picard premieres January 23 on CBS All Access, with new episodes set to release on a weekly basis. Look for Season 2 in late 2020 or early 2021.

For sure Jean Luc is impeached - cast is too old for a regular mutiny.

The second season will probably be about his impeachment from the star fleet. You know to keep it in line with modern events

Picard should introduce warp voting machines unless old people are to lose their precious right to vote. There is much to explore in this woke whopper.

I'm a baby boomer but I agree.A good drama with older folks is no problem but Sci-fi and actioned packed shows are for the younger guys and gals.

The creeping age of casts is because the baby boomers are hitting those ages.. and they still feel relevant (beyond just screwing things up for everyone else). It doesn't bother them to see an 80 year old doing what traditionally someone HALF that age would be doing. But for the rest of the population... seeing great grandpa fight aliens and have romantic interests is more comedy than drama. Hollywood has yet to throw the switch and realize dome actors are PAST their prime to be leading men.

It hasn't aired yet. Looks extremely woke and PatStew's pushin' 80. This will suck.

It’s making more and more sense. We must send all of our really old folks out to space at warp speed. This solves enormous problems. I can’t wait. ... ... Ummm, .... I’m rethinking the no more sex sitiation. ... Ok - when you’re old and done (like our cast apparently), that’s when you know it’s time to schedule your departure. You will notice Picard will be a no sex star trek, at least for the humans. Data and pets might be different.

I really wasn't trying to be smart and I love Shatner and Stewart but with advanced age I just wonder what kind of show this will be.It can't be too actioned packed due to the ages of the actors.Hey I hope I'm wrong and love the show.
