The latest entry in the franchise will return for Season 2.
December 16, 2019
It is being reported that Star Trek: Picard has been picked up by CBS All Access for a second season. The good news comes five weeks ahead of the sci-fi drama's debut on the streaming service, and comes in the wake of the series being selected to receive a tax credit towards a new season from the California Film Commission.
Star Trek: Picard is the second entry in the storied franchise to launch on CBS All Access, following 2017's Star Trek: Discovery, which will be heading into its third season next year.
Picard takes place 20 years after the events that occurred in 2002's Star Trek: Nemesis. With life in the galaxy vastly different since the dissolution of the Romulan Empire, retired admiral Jean-Luc Picard embarks on the next chapter of his life.
Star Trek: Picard premieres January 23 on CBS All Access, with new episodes set to release on a weekly basis. Look for Season 2 in late 2020 or early 2021.

Leonard Spock could still carry it at 80, not so much James T Shatner. You have a point. And we have had a lot of really old guys in space. Pretend that’s an inspiration.

Why is this about Jean Luc Stewart? If it was just him, frankly I wouldnt give a damn. But with the old cast in it too, that makes it of definite interest. Yet still lost in space as I’ll never see it on no C BS No Access.

Does anybody realize this is coming on 25 years after TNG went off.The reboot of the X-Files should tell you something and I loved the X-Files.How old is Stewart,80? How about rebooting the original Star Trek? What's Shatner,85 and 400 lbs. ? Who know if Stewart will be around for a second series.

Why is this rated at 3 when it has not even been on tv yet? LAME.

I am excited to know there will be another season, althought there hasn't been an episode aired, yet. It is one of the shows I am looking forward to the most.
I don't understand why they didn't simply announced the fact instead of having that made public through the tax credits. It leaves a bit of a sour taste. And people who won't like it (and it is entirely possible I could be amongst them) will then use that fact against the show itself.

Renewed before the debut. Wow, must be nice to be clairvoyant.
