The police-focused reality series will not return.
June 10, 2020
One day after the cancellation of Cops, another police-focused reality series is being taken off the air. A&E has cancelled Live PD after four seasons in the wake of ongoing protests against police brutality following the death of George Floyd.
Premiering in 2016, Live PD became a flagship for the network, airing nearly 300 episodes in just three and a half years. Its rapid rise in popularity saw it rank as one of cable TV's top series on Friday and Saturday nights. Today's news comes just one month after the show was renewed for an additional 160 episodes, which would have seen it on the air for at least another two years.
Hosted by Dan Abrams alongside analyst Tom Morris Jr., Live PD captures the patrols of a variety of America's busiest police forces in urban and rural communities. Audiences get insight about the events in real time during a typical night's work using a mix of dash cams, fixed rig, and handheld cameras.

The "US" now seems to stand for "Us v Someone" because most of the American population only seems content when they are battling some other group - be it political, social, economic. Whatever. As long as there's a "fight" to be had. It's really rather sad.

Hypocrites in this country and I’m sick of it. Ppl pitch a fit when chick Fila employees wears back the blue shirts but it’s ok if Starbucks lets their employees wear blm shirts. It’s just mind numbing at all the hypocrisy. Ppl Protest, destroy, and burn then say we want to be respected. I guess paw patrol will be next on this web site smh.

People died for our rights. Let's not take that lightly. There is a huge difference between the right to watch something and a networks right to choose what to show. Before you go making light of the word please look up the difference.

Its crap and the video is out there I just watched it.
They were forced to cancel and its BS. Cops and Live Pd were my favorite shows.
I'm sorry this has gone overboard. We no longer have a right what to watch or not.

.. actually... I can see how producers do NOT want to be put in the middle of things and be liable for not disclosing materials or incidents which may have been filmed. While I 100% agree that canceling the show due to the current political climate is a huge, whopping, mistake... canceling the show to remove liability may be another matter (Remember..they are all lawyers). The Javier Ambler incident seems more the catalyst here than other incidents. I mean, Live PD filmed that interaction which resulted in Ambler's death... and yet... they never used it or disclosed it.
