The police-focused reality series will not return.
June 10, 2020
One day after the cancellation of Cops, another police-focused reality series is being taken off the air. A&E has cancelled Live PD after four seasons in the wake of ongoing protests against police brutality following the death of George Floyd.
Premiering in 2016, Live PD became a flagship for the network, airing nearly 300 episodes in just three and a half years. Its rapid rise in popularity saw it rank as one of cable TV's top series on Friday and Saturday nights. Today's news comes just one month after the show was renewed for an additional 160 episodes, which would have seen it on the air for at least another two years.
Hosted by Dan Abrams alongside analyst Tom Morris Jr., Live PD captures the patrols of a variety of America's busiest police forces in urban and rural communities. Audiences get insight about the events in real time during a typical night's work using a mix of dash cams, fixed rig, and handheld cameras.

They weren't asked for the footage and it was destroyed, as is A&E's policy, not the production company or the show. Body cam footage from the officer was made available, which showed the whole thing. This is on the city and their attorneys, not the show.
Maybe do a little research before you let a politician tell you how to think. Even better, don't rely on the media to tell you all the information. The news outlet that "reported" this failed to mention all of that in the story, which spread before the truth could get out.
This country isn't in trouble because of the police or TV shows. It's in trouble because people can't think for themselves.
Please take your rasicst outdated trolling elsewhere. You are just trying to use buzzwords of hate to try to get people anger. Your comments are so obviously false and add nothing to any conversation that no one believes you believe it. Stop being a troll
The 9 min video showing Chauvin on top of George Floyd put the face of the police in perspective and showed their real face to the people. Remember, until that video surfaced, the police department tried to bury the incident as "pronounced dead at the hospital" and "murdered by Chauvin & Co".
@Bernie Thanks for your display of ignorance. It was not this one incidence. Remember the father who was shot 7 times in front of his 4yo daughter, the teenager who was killed for asking directions, another teen for holding a water-gun, another for a mobile, then the dude who was shot point blank for selling DVDs in a parking lot, another shot while running away from the police because the act running away apparently put the cops lives in immediate danger?! Grow up!
@NJDeb Read the news, apparently the show was already into some controversy after they tried to hide that one of the perps arrested on the show later died in police custody.
