The police-focused reality series will not return.
June 10, 2020
One day after the cancellation of Cops, another police-focused reality series is being taken off the air. A&E has cancelled Live PD after four seasons in the wake of ongoing protests against police brutality following the death of George Floyd.
Premiering in 2016, Live PD became a flagship for the network, airing nearly 300 episodes in just three and a half years. Its rapid rise in popularity saw it rank as one of cable TV's top series on Friday and Saturday nights. Today's news comes just one month after the show was renewed for an additional 160 episodes, which would have seen it on the air for at least another two years.
Hosted by Dan Abrams alongside analyst Tom Morris Jr., Live PD captures the patrols of a variety of America's busiest police forces in urban and rural communities. Audiences get insight about the events in real time during a typical night's work using a mix of dash cams, fixed rig, and handheld cameras.

WHAT?!?!? This makes NO SENSE!!!!! This show was a HUGE ratings leader on Friday & Saturday nights!!! They showed Police being patient, kind and compassionate with citizens many times over. I felt this show opened the eyes to many Americans on what Police Officers have to go through every day and night. I’m extremely disappointed to hear A&E have chosen to cancel this wonderful show. I’m hoping they don’t cancel all their Live PD Nation shows!!!!

TV just sucks now. Good shows cancelled. Bad shows kept on for political reasons. They wonder why people cancel TV subscriptions left and right.

They can replace all the cop shows with reality protests, vandalisms, looting, and murdering of defenseless shop owners. All the promises by actors, musicians, and left wing groups to pay for the defense of these aggrieved people won’t even be necessary because all derelict behavior is now allowed by the hapless cities.

Maybe they can put another show about idiots pretending to buy storage lockers or people looking for ghosts in it's place.

All because they killed one . Everyone suddenly loses their mind, when no one cared about all the other dying up until this point. So stupid.

The snowflakes in Hollywood will cancel all shows depicting what cops really do which is proper 99.99% of the time. But they'll give that radical Dick Wolf free reign to write a new genre of "social worker" procedural dramas with no police. They'll send in a LGBTQ person to disarm a drug crazed shooter by asking how they feel and if they need any counseling.

It would be more beneficial to cancel all the news shows.

I hate that. I liked the show but the city I am I canceled their contract with the show last week.
In most of the scenes, it really put a human face on police and you got to see them as real people.

Ugh. So where will this end? Going to cancel Chicago PD or Rescue 911 now?
