The Queen Latifah drama will return for Season 2.
March 9, 2021
CBS announced today that The Equalizer has been picked up for a second season. The good news comes four episodes into the drama's freshman run, which premiered in the coveted post-Super Bowl time slot, which has helped it become TV's top scripted series in viewers and key demographics.
The show stars Queen Latifah as an enigmatic single mother with a mysterious background. She utilizes her extensive skills to help those with nowhere else to turn. Known as The Equalizer to a trusted few, she is an anonymous guardian angel and defender of the downtrodden, who will stop at nothing in her pursuit of personal redemption.
Look for Season 2 of The Equalizer to return as part of the 2021-2022 season.

The original series with Aussie, Edward Woodward, was terrific.
I watched some clips of this show and knew this was not for me - more preaching and scolding from the woke crowd.
And, drum roll please, of course it was renewed because - well, you know.
Side note, dropped The Good Doctor and FBI. I am an adult and I refuse to be told to adjust my thinking, etc. The Good Doctor scripts are exceptionally racist this year.
All Lives Matter.

Another Hollywood left-wing piece of garbage. Deny people due process, trample all the laws, etc. We don't need a show glorifying the illegal activities of a vigilante.

This show is terrible, not a patch on the original. What is it about the networks in the US, can't they think of anything new to make, why do they insist in just re hashing decent old shows and then ruining them for all us who remember the original's

@J I think it's because of the first episode after the Super Bowl. It drew huge ratings... then CBS takes the average of the four episodes. Doesn't really reflect its actual ratings :)

"TV's top scripted series in viewers and key demographics"
Which key demographics? I cannot find any information to support this claim. CBS looks to become then new CW, renew a series with terrible ratings after only a few episodes.

I'm surprised. Pretty boring. The fight scenes seemed to be super fast and the camera moves around so fast. I don't think she can make them look convincing??? I tries to give to give it a shot but half way through the second episode I couldn't do it. Show is not for me.
