The Queen Latifah drama will return for Season 2.

CBS announced today that The Equalizer has been picked up for a second season. The good news comes four episodes into the drama's freshman run, which premiered in the coveted post-Super Bowl time slot, which has helped it become TV's top scripted series in viewers and key demographics.
The show stars Queen Latifah as an enigmatic single mother with a mysterious background. She utilizes her extensive skills to help those with nowhere else to turn. Known as The Equalizer to a trusted few, she is an anonymous guardian angel and defender of the downtrodden, who will stop at nothing in her pursuit of personal redemption.
Look for Season 2 of The Equalizer to return as part of the 2021-2022 season.

Really, this was renewed.
1. A pale shadow of the 90's version.
2. Does anyone believe that QL is doing any of those moves.
3. Because she's a she, she just HAS to have a family. BS cliché.
Prediction.... no 3rd season. Why... it's boring, there's no imagination..... Have a series arc.... something sinister.... after all it all spy and spooks stuff. .... work it. Make it interesting.

I think queen l is a fine actress and proves it here. I do care what color or sex the main character is. And if you don't like vigilante shows don't watch them. I am all for vigilantes. In minneapolis they removed the cops, in a fit of cowardness by the mayor, and vigilante citizens of all colors had to rally for protection. Now if cops were there it would have been different. but I am for a real equalizer to exist why not? I hate woke cancel culture idiots, but to claim this is all a show about wokeness is false. I loved the edward w version of this show a lot , this one not as much but it's ok so far.

If you don't like the show...don't watch it. I enjoy the show and would like to see more episodes. Being a racist isn't okay just because you are online and found other ignorant people who will agree with you. Just because it isn't the same as the original doesn't make it wrong....we need new stuff to watch.

Ive not watched this but we all know why it got renewed. From what I have heard though Queen Latifah is just horrible in this or this is not the kind of role she should have taken on.
For the record, I dont really mind SOME of this race swapping, gender swapping IF ITS GOOD. If instead of Queen Latifah they had someone better I wouldnt mind it at all. Also when I say I dont mind some of the swapping I still mind if its for social justice reasons and not like if its a character in the universe of the show or movies is like a person to naturally hand the mantle down to cause theyve earned it, then its cool.

I now firmly believe that there are a a lot of conspiracy theorists that comment on the shows they don’t care for. Why can’t a show be bad just because it's bad? No it’s either political or leftist or racist. Sometimes commenters believe they are being told what to think or do. Others say it’s too fake or not real enough. Those same people despise reality shows ( I mean who doesn’t?!) but if fictional shows were exactly true to life wouldn’t they be a reality show of sorts? I just believe things are either good or bad and we all have our likes or dislikes but I don’t believe all these “terrible” shows have any agenda other than entertainment. If I want anything else I will watch the news.

@Susan - Edward Woodward was English, not Australian. According to Wikipedia, the Australian Edward Woodward is/was a judge.
