The Queen Latifah drama nabs a two-season pickup.
May 5, 2022
CBS announced today that The Equalizer has been picked up for Seasons 3 and 4. The good news comes with two episodes remaining in the drama's sophomore run, which has continued to perform well for the network as Sunday's top scripted series.
The show stars Queen Latifah as an enigmatic single mother with a mysterious background. She utilizes her extensive skills to help those with nowhere else to turn. Known as The Equalizer to a trusted few, she is an anonymous guardian angel and defender of the downtrodden, who will stop at nothing in her pursuit of personal redemption.
Look for Season 3 of The Equalizer this fall as part of the 2022-2023 season.

Read the summary. This is the TOP scripted show on CBS Sunday nights. That is all that matters. You need watches and it is one of the most watched show on the channel period. So, if you don’t want to watch it then don’t. I thought it was not good on the first episode, but it got better. It’s funny when the stuntman kicks door the door for the promo, but highly rated and watched. Bottom line, what you feel or think doesn’t matter.

First season was fun. Downhill from there. She's been promoted from super-hero to a quixotic character of social justice. That's not the franchise on which the premise was conceived. I see this as the last season...

I loved the Equalizer tv series from long ago and even the movies and I've tried giving this show a few tries, but I just can't suspend my disbelief enough to by that she could basially take Jason Bourne or John Wick down with ease.
QL is a decent actress, but she doesn't fake the physical stuff very well. Meanwhile, the wokeness is thrown in your face every chance they get - Much like Batwoman, this show will continue to get renewed despite not really being very good, at least until it starts costing them too much per episode.

If you think a black female lesbian show can't be cancelled try watching Batwoman. Oops... it's gone. Many of these naysayers are missing the point. The reason the show is successful is that it has likeable lead characters. There are people who want... maybe need... fiction in which people do what's right JUST BECAUSE it' the right thing to do. Yes, it requires a big helping of suspension of disbelief, but maybe not as much as the Blacklist or Walker. It's not for everyone, but please don't make it about race or sexual preference. All the networks care about is ratings and this show is on because a lot of people like watching it.

Apparently this is a love/hate show. I am glad it got renewed for 2 more seasons. For those that are mad at concept of a black woman Queen's age beating up younger, fit men and screaming about realism must not be old enough to watch the original. Old white man beating up younger fit men is much more believable... And they actual do cancel shows with black women in the lead all the time...Batwoman and Chicago Code come to mind.

Sad to see the negativity here…. It’s a TV show. Don’t be concerned about Queens age! This is a great show usually…. The acting, the stories, it’s easy to watch and spontaneous.
So glad it picked up 2 seasons which rarely happens. Looking forward to some great episodes.

The show is unwatchable because it is completely incomprehensible. I know it's not the show from the 80's and it's certainly not the movie version, in which Denzel Washington was fantastic as the Equalizer but you have to give the viewer a bit of reality. An overweight, out of shape 50 something woman beating the crap out of men 30 years younger, who look like they play middle linebacker in the NFL, Come On! If you wanted a female in that role Gina Carano would have been a much better choice. She is physically imposing and fit and she is much younger.

Wow, they must have nothing creative in the works to keep this heaping pile still going. Well we all know what this show does have so it can’t be canceled I guess smh
