The comedy will be back for a second season.
April 30, 2021
NBC announced today that Kenan has been renewed for Season 2. The good news comes just days following its freshman finale, which wrapped a decent debut run for the new comedy.
Airing Tuesday nights at 8:30pm after 'Young Rock', the half-hour series hasn't quite found the success of its lead-in, though its ratings often hold their own against other competition in the time slot. Ahead of today's pickup, the show had been seen as a toss-up for renewal.
Kenan follows the titular single father who's doing his best to balance his career as a popular morning show host in Atlanta with raising his two lively young daughters. While his father-in-law and his brother are always offering to help, they usually find a way to make things a whole lot worse.
Look for Season 2 of Kenan as part of the 2021-2022 television season.

It was Tracy Morgan who survived a serious accident not Kenan Thompson. Wrong comedian.

As I said with Seth Meyers, NBC gives SNL alumni an automatic pass, it would seem. Plus Kenan had that accident & all, so even more so.

It's so sad how hard they try. Their shows will never be as successful and run 8-10-12-15 seasons like the other shows.

I tried to like it. Just cannot get into it. I do not find it funny.

Show really is unwatchable. Gave it two episodes because I wanted to like it. With cancel culture better shows were canceled but this gets a renew? Come on now. It's Young Rock for me and time to change the channel

It's on the "ethnic night" .. the one night a week where the networks air primarily shows "of color".. this, Young Rock, Blackish, Mixedish, Black Lightning... all on the same night of the week.... hmm.... sure seems planned.
This show... along with Young Rock, are absolutely abysmal shows. I think they may only be on the air due to "diversity". Because, on their own merits.. they are pretty horrible shows.

Not my favorite show by far, but it is hard not to like the actors. Kenan is always funny on SNL and Kenan. Don Johnson is awesome. Good way to kill 22 minutes before bed.
