No Season 2 for the sci-fi drama.
May 27, 2021
It is being reported that NBC has cancelled Debris after just one season. The sad news comes three days after the sci-fi drama wrapped its 13-episode freshman run. The move isn't a complete surprise though, as the show struggled to find a sizeable audience despite generally positive feedback from critics.
From 'Fringe' executive producer J.H. Wyman, the hour-long series follows a world where mysterious wreckage has fallen to Earth from outer space. An international agency, as well as other mysterious parties, try to figure out where it came from and what is behind it, as each fragment has an unpredictable effect on those who find it, changing their lives in unexpected and dangerous ways.

This was actually a good show. Not sure why some people didn't understand what was going on. It wasn't really that hard to follow. Each episode focused on a new technology while also advancing the overall story which, like every show, focuses on the characters' lives and their interactions with each other and their friends, families, jobs, etc. It could've been really great if it had gotten another season and was given time to grow. Unfortunately network series aren't given that luxury nowadays and get cancelled too soon. It's all about what they can charge for ad time, sadly.
And to the poster who commented about the people being trapped in the barn within the rain area...you clearly didn't understand what was going on fundamentally.

Too much like "Lost" getting nowhere, just more mysteries with no answers. BUT if Big Dick Wolf got ahold of it, and made the debris a Trump plot to change the election it would have been a hit. Or the debris was alien privilege trying to level the karma of Earthlings.

I didn't watch it but based off what I read really didn't think it had enough of a story line to make it a multiple seasons show or even a how to bring it to an ending if it did make it.

From what I can tell, this is a wasted opportunity. I never watched the show. However, off world unknown debris landing here could have inspired great storylines. it sounds like it got wasted in rehashed scripts. None of the previous 32 comments are from people I know, so I won't argue the finer points of series discussions. But one rule should be in place: WATCH 3 EPISODES. IF YOU AREN'T CAUGHT BY EPISODE 2 OR 3, THEN IT IS CRAP. But stop all this dvr this, seasons yeah or nehh, totally b.s. rules that don't add anything. WATCH THE FIRST 3 EPISODES TO DETERMINE CRAP RATING. and make viewing decisions after that.

Well now I'm really glad I started doing what I did for this show - record them all and "wait" to see if it's renewed. If it's not and there's no ending (as is the case with SO many shows especially sci-fi) I can simply delete them without having wasted my time watching....I DID watch @ the first 4-5 episodes and felt like it was the kind of show ...that will get the axe....

This is the only new show I watch and I don't watch any other scripted shows.I still will watch the finale as I watched the first 12 episodes.I was honestly disappointed as it was highly touted.I really didn't like the leads. They weren't no Mulder and Scully. All the shows on all channels are getting worse. They can't make a good show anymore. They are too worried about making a political statement then a good show.
