The dystopian drama scores another early pickup.

TNT announced today that Snowpiercer has been picked up for a fourth season. The good news comes early, as the dystopian drama just wrapped its sophomore run four months ago. Season 3 has yet to set a premiere date, but just recently finished shooting and is targeting a return in early 2022.
Season 1 of the series debuted in May 2020 and became the most-watched cable program of that month, making it TNT's best premiere in nearly two years. A solid freshman run was followed up with more success in Season 2, where it ranked as a Top 5 drama on cable TV with 21 million viewers across linear and digital platforms.
Adapted from the film and graphic novel series of the same name, Snowpiercer takes place seven years after the world became a frozen wasteland. Now the only surviving remnants of humanity inhabit a perpetually-moving train of 1001 cars that circles the earth. Within this new society, class warfare, social injustice, and the politics of survival are all in play.

This series is going downhill fast. The first season was very enjoyable, but the setup for the second season appeared out of nowhere. And that's what the second season was, nowhere. Character motivation was all over the place. I can only assume that Jennifer Connelly wanted out of the series, her storyline ended so abruptly and it made a mess of the rest of the story.

Man creates a train that saves people from certain death. That same man is cast as the villain of the show somehow. The ingrate passengers that he saved try to overthrow him and are somehow the heroes of the story. No thanks.

Interesting. Few sci Fi shows last more than han one season. This one , based on the movie surprised me in that regard but gen x is it as bad as gang rap? I like this show actually.
