The fantasy drama concludes its run next month.
September 15, 2021
The CW has confirmed that The Outpost is coming to an end after its current fourth season. The news was announced on the fantasy drama's Twitter page, with a post stating that the epic journey is concluding on October 7. With such short notice before the final episode, it's unclear whether this ending was planned well in advance or not.
The Outpost follows Talon, a Blackblood whose village was destroyed by a gang of mercenaries years ago. Now the only remaining member of her race, she travels to a lawless fortress on the edge of civilization looking for her family's killer. On her way to the outpost, Talon learns that she possesses a supernatural power that she must harness in order to save herself and defend the world against a radical religious dictator.

It lost the story arc and was starting to spin its wheels. The "Lost" Syndrome was taking hold.

I like this little show.It reminds me of a lot of shows that use to play on Saturday in the 90's but I knew it would be coming to an end because the ratings are not good.To be honest I didn't think it would last beyond the first season. That said when are these tv execs going to realize that these type of shows doesn't generate big ratings but has a loyal core following. This was the last show I've been watching on the CW so now there are none. There are no shows on ABC,NBC,CBS,Fox and now the CW that I watch.

Actually, the picture above is apparently official CW and outpost twitter (where it links) and October 7 is the hard end which should make exactly four more episodes and nothing else natters.

I searched around a little bit and possibly it's not 100% it's cancelled. Ratings were much down in 3rd season. Are we watching the 4th season now or still the third? There seems to be some question about which season is which. Notice, there is no page here for the Season 4 renewal. Season 3 was apparently extended, which is why maybe the extension can be called 3 or 4. How many episodes are left? Got me.

Really bummed to hear this news. I watch a fair bit of t.v. but there are only a small handful of shows that I actually look forward to each week, and this would be one of them. I don't know exactly what it is about this show... but it has the right combination of cast, crew, storyline, and characters to make it a really fun hour each week! I will really miss it.

Bad news for sure. I should check the ratings especially because the "unclear" and "short notice."
It's a kids show but I'm anything but a kid. It's campy, silly, cheesy. But it doesn't matter because it's got character. Some of the film level (realism) is 1950's era, or more like a play, but that doesn't take away from the fun. Everything about the monsters and the kinges is ridiculous, but we give it a pass. The story seems to be made up as it goes, which eventually would bring it down - but hasn't yet.
It's been steady fun, and one of the two or three shows I watch and have looked forward to. (I'm almost finished with the final two seasons of Queen of the South (4 & 5). Wow is that good. I've got the most of the final season of Mr Inbetween left and little else that's current. The USA network is now dead and buried. CW is dead and buried. FX is dead but kicking up dirt.)
Meet me at the Outpost - I think we need a new king and queen in the finale.

I really hope with 3 episodes left and the fact they just started this new story less than 4 episodes ago they give it a proper ending and not just some cliffhanger
