The Kevin Costner drama extends its impressive run.
February 3, 2022
Paramount Network announced today that Yellowstone has been picked up for a fifth season. Coming a month after the conclusion of Season 4, the renewal is no surprise given the drama's continued strong performance.
Since its premiere in 2018, the show has slowly become a ratings hit for the cable network. After a modest start in Season 1, viewership has been growing every year since, with the fourth season actually doubling its average audience over Season 3.
Yellowstone follows the Dutton family, who are owners of a Montana ranch that is the largest of its kind in America. Kevin Costner plays patriarch John, who leads the Duttons as they constantly contend with attacks from land developers, conflicts with the country's first national park, and tense encounters with a neighboring Indian reservation as they fight to keep their land in the family.
Season 5 of Yellowstone is slated to begin production this spring, with a likely premiere in the fall.

Via the "by the way" method of learning, I discovered today that, because of the Chinese spy balloon, Montana is home to several U.S. nuclear sites. This turn of events hasn't come up yet on "Yellowstone". I wonder if they will ever write this into one of their episodes. They said it is as big as three buses. That could trap a lot of cattle if it were to be shot down over the Dutton ranch,

Absolutely love this series! Definitely fun to watch. Also 1883 is surprisingly interesting. Can't wait to get further into 1883! Season 5 will be surprising I'm sure. So, Beth can give it hell! ✌️♥️- Yellowstone

I think Gator is the only "nice" character on the show. Everyone is kind of evil in it lol

Costner is doing another movie. Immigrants going to Oregon in the 1840's. Sound familiar?

Paramount is teasing us. Obviously this show is returning. Season 4 was the best so far. Great writing and acting. Maybe Kevin Costner only has a year to year deal? Great to see it back. 5 Stars !!!!!!!

You have to wonder why it only got a one year extension. Why not two or three years?

There's not one character (maybe Kayce) who is really worth rooting for in this show.
Yet, I find myself coming back for more.
Between this and 1883 (which is also really good), Taylor Sheridan is quickly becoming a legend.
