The comedy ends after two seasons.
May 12, 2022
Word is out that CBS has cancelled B Positive after two seasons. The comedy, which wrapped its sophomore run in March, had been seen as on the bubble for renewal. Fellow Chuck Lorre-produced sitcom 'United States of Al' was also cancelled yesterday. Both shows were fairly well-received by critics but failed to draw strong viewership numbers.
The half-hour series stars Thomas Middleditch as Drew, a therapist and recently-divorced dad in need of a kidney. He finds a possible donor in Annaleigh Ashford's Gina, an unsophisticated woman from his past. Together, they form an unlikely friendship and start a journey that will greatly impact both of their lives.

I think Chuck Lorre is stretching himself too thin. His vanity cards suggest he has gone into semi-retirement and left too many critical decisions to others.
The massive retooling of the second season had possibilities, especially with all the favorite old actors on display. But ultimately life at a retirement home is just too depressing. Sooner or later you have to address people dealing with declining health and dying.

One season too late. The world would have been a better place without season 2.

I enjoyed it but I'm not surprised. The second season wasn't as good as the first. The premise of needing the kidney transplant didn't seem like it would work after the transplant happened. Then the show really became Gina-centric with Drew being more of a background character. Selling his house and moving into the van was a bad move. I also missed Eli, Drew's daughter and Samantha (Briga Heelan is so freaking hot).

Show lost its footing and fell hard in season two. Throwing a bunch of stars at it was a crutch - should have spent the money on better writers. This is a classic show that started on a premise that was just not sustainable. It jumped the shark once the kidney transplant happened. Note to CBS - look carefully at your pilots and think about the premise 3 seasons down the road.

Looks like Chuck Lorre has lost some shine. No longer CBSs golden boy if his shows are getting cancelled right and left.

I was surprised abt 2 Lorre shows getting cancelled, too. This one took a little getting used to. I ended up liking it well enough, but wasn't really sure where they could go with it.

I really like the show in the first season, but with screwed it up in my opinion, is that they basically cured him at the end of the season,They should’ve really drug it out a little longer, building up more possibilities and more feelings for these two characters to fall in love. Instead, she got became a millionaire and he bought an RV to go travel, that’s just stupid. It’s too bad, this show had a lot of potential.
