The dystopian drama will return in 2025.

AMC announced today that it has acquired the rights to Snowpiercer, allowing the long awaited fourth season of the dystopian drama to finally air. The news comes a year after the series was cancelled by TNT despite filming on Season 4 already being complete.
It only seemed a matter of time before the show landed at a new network. At the time of its cancellation, production company Tomorrow Studios stated it was already trying to find a new home for the fourth season, which will reportedly mark the end of the series' story.
"Snowpiercer is an edge-of-your-seat thrill ride with a loyal fanbase – similar to the passionate fandoms we serve across our biggest franchise series – and a welcome addition to AMC and AMC+," said Ben Davis, executive vice president of original programming for AMC Networks and AMC Studios. "We look forward to giving viewers an opportunity to binge the first three seasons later this year, in anticipation of the arrival of a remarkable fourth season helmed by Paul Zbyszewski and this stellar cast, which will premiere in 2025."
Adapted from the film and graphic novel series of the same name, Snowpiercer takes place seven years after the world became a frozen wasteland. Now the only surviving remnants of humanity inhabit a perpetually-moving train of 1001 cars that circles the earth. Within this new society, class warfare, social injustice, and the politics of survival are all in play.

On the positive side, anything is better than a show that Turgid Dick Wolf is involved with.

.... "Snowpiercer is an edge-of-your-seat thrill ride with a loyal fanbase..."
What's that guy been smokin?? It started strong but just got rather ridiculous. Clearly AMC has nothing new to offer... all the Walking Dead crap has turned into just that.. crap.. Snowfall ended... and they've got nothing else.

I suspect the final season will be a big letdown. Season by season it was getting sillier and sillier. But I suppose I'll watch it just to see what happens.

AMC is one of the few channels left that still makes prestige TV. Great pickup for them.

Congrats to the cast & crew, also the fans/viewers ot this series. For me, I never liked the series and stopped watching it during or after S1. It just wasn't for me (I'm more of a Halo-series guy).

Awesome!! I knew some network would pick it up since filming was already done. I figured it would be Netflix but I'll take AMC!
