Hallmark Channel announced today that The Way Home has been renewed for a third season. The early pickup comes with two episodes remaining in the drama's 10-episode sophomore run.

The show has continued to be a solid performer for the cable network. Since its second season debut in January, it has ranked as the #1 most-watched program overall on entertainment cable among Households, Total Viewers, and Women and Persons 18+ in Live+3 viewing.

"Once again, our cast, writers and entire crew have used their impressive talents to create a story that is just as compelling and addictive as the first season," said Lisa Hamilton Daly, Executive Vice President Programming, Hallmark Media. "We're grateful to the fans who are so passionate about the series and can't wait for them to see what - and when - is ahead for season 3."

The Way Home follows the story of three generations of women. 20 years ago, lifechanging events prompted Kat Landry to move away from her Canadian farm town of Port Haven, remaining estranged from her mother to this day. With Kat's marriage ending and having just lost her job, she decides to return home with her daughter after receiving an unexpected letter from her mom. After arriving at her family's farm, Kat realizes the reunion isn't what she had envisioned. As the three generations of women slowly work to find their footing as a family, they embark on an enlightening journey none of them could have seen coming as they learn how to find their way back to each other.
