No Season 3 for the detective drama.
April 19, 2024
It is being reported that So Help Me Todd has been cancelled by CBS after two seasons. The news comes with four episodes remaining in the drama's now-final run, with its May 16 episode now set to serve as its series ender.
Creator Scott Prendergast took to Instagram following the news, expressing gratitude to everyone involved in making the show as well as all the viewers, calling it the best professional experience of his life. See his full post below.
The show has been garnering decent ratings so far this season, but it does rank as one of the lowest-watched dramas on the network. It appears today's cancellation was needed in order to make room on the schedule for one of its upcoming new dramas set for the 2024-2025 season.
So Help Me Todd follows a guy named Todd, who has always wanted to be a private detective. Now that he is, he's very good at it. When his lawyer mom offers him a job as an in-house investigator at her firm, he reluctantly agrees - as long as she promises to let him be who he wants to be.

What a shame. This was one of my favorite shows. It was always funny and made me laugh.

This is a suprise. I only saw a part of one episode and though this show wouldn't make it. Shocked to hear it got a second episode let alone a second season. Every network should pick this up so that it can get canned a lot. We all would rather see an hour of traffic cams then more of this.

This is one of my favorite shows. I look forward to it. Make room to keep this show.

Typical CBS BS. They always cancel. Good shows that get decent ratings for political reasons shows they want to push or an agenda they want to push. I really hope another Network picks to show up because this is probably one of the best shows that has been put on TV in recent years. It's different, it's clever. The cast is amazing but you know CBS they do this all the time. I'm so over CBS

It's not often that there are so many pages of "NO, don't cancel this" comments that are so universal. There's usually some outliers that say "this show sucked", but with SHMT it was ALL comments asking for another network to pick it up, or just not cancel it.
I agree, So Help Me Todd has a great cast, good, quirky story lines, and even my 88 year old mother said to me "Hey, let's watch that show with the son and his mother" and she ONLY watches Hallmark movies.
CBS, you screwed up on this one, letting one of the best shows on TV go.

Bummer, I guess it is my fault! I really like the show but have been busy so haven't been keeping up. Figured I'd just stream and catch up when I got the chance.
