The CSI sequel is ending after three seasons.
April 19, 2024
It is being reported that CBS has cancelled CSI: Vegas after three seasons. The news comes with five episodes left in the crime procedural's now-final run, with its May 19 episode set to be the series ender.
The show has been garnering decent ratings so far this season, but it does rank as one of the least-watched dramas on the network. It appears today's cancellation was needed in order to make room on the schedule for one of its upcoming new dramas slated for the 2024-2025 season.
CSI: Vegas premiered in 2021 as a sequel to the original 'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation' that ran from 2000-2015. The first season saw William Petersen and Jorja Fox reprise their roles as Gil Grissom and Sara Sidle. They were joined by a new team of forensic investigators in the crime lab, utilizing new techniques in order to serve justice in Las Vegas - all while facing an existential threat that could bring down their operation.
Petersen and Fox departed after just one season, though Marg Helgenberger joined the show in Season 2, reprising her role as Catherine Willows. Other characters from the original series have also made appearances.

@Pat - Cyber lasted two years. Season 2 was a sequel as well, showing where Ted Danson's character went.

I love this show. I do agree that the end of season two was not so great. But this is a shame. CSI is now really dead I guess. Five series total. Csi cyber only lasted a single year though.

Another great show canceled by CBS! Why???? I love this show. Wasn't sure about it at first getting attached to the new characters but love it now especially with Cathryn Willows back who is funny and brings the best parts of the show from the past to now. Please another network picks this show up!

Always cancelling shows that are on and watched, even if not as popular as others, Just to put in a brand new show always baffles me. All the networks are expecting ridiculous ratings. It’s not gonna happen ever again with all these streaming services that we all watch. There’s great stuff to watch lots of places, not everyone can be top of the list. It’s so frustrating to keep watching shows that cancel without having a conclusion.

That's a shame, but I'm not surprised… They were relying way too much on past stars who shouldn't have been there for more than a couple episodes (though it got better recently), and the end of season 2/beginning of season 3 storyline was completely stupid.

What a shame. It wasn't as nearly as good as the original run (then again, when the original revolutionized the police procedural drama for over a decade, how could it be?), but it seemed like it had finally found its footing.

Too bad. I really liked the original series, and when they brought this one out I was pretty stoked! Sorry to see it go.

Looks like I will not even bother watching the episodes I missed in season 3.
Looks like they will not reveal who the silver symbol writer is.
