The action thriller nabs an early pickup.
October 8, 2024
Netflix announced today that The Night Agent has been renewed for Season 3. The pickup is an early one, coming well ahead of the action thriller's sophomore run, which has yet to set a release date. The streamer did confirm that Season 2 will premiere sometime in winter 2025.
The show debuted in early 2023, meaning it will be about two years by the time it returns for Season 2. The wait between the second and third seasons should be shorter, however, as a production unit for Season 3 will begin in Istanbul at the end of 2024 before returning to film in New York in 2025.
Based on the novel by Matthew Quirk, The Night Agent follows low-level FBI Agent Peter Sutherland, who mans an emergency hotline for American spies in the basement of the White House. The phone never rings - but when a call comes in from a terrified civilian, Peter must find a way to protect her while working to uncover a dangerous conspiracy that could lead all the way to the Oval Office.

Didn't even know this show was on, and suddenly it's good enough to announce s03 before s02 is out! Between Black Doves & The Agency, I think I'll pass on this one.

I enjoyed this show. It was a good enough spy thriller. Will need to brush up on what happened though.

This comment about losing viewers because they renewed it. Ecore showing season two, that they will lose viewers is not correct. Viewers will tune into a show that is coming back in two more seasons.

way to go renew it before the second season has been scheduled way to lose what you had in viewers

I like the show BUT having to wait 2 years for a second season is ridiculous! That is how you loose viewers quickly!!

Why is it getting a season 3?
It has not even gotten a season 2.
Not to mention season 1 ended over a year ago.
