Paramount+ announced today that Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has been renewed for a fifth and final season. The renewal is another early one, coming a month before the sci-fi drama returns for Season 3. Production is scheduled to begin on the final six-episode season later this year.
"From the very beginning, STRANGE NEW WORLDS set out to honor what STAR TREK has always stood for - boundless curiosity, hope and the belief that a better future is possible," said executive producers Akiva Goldsman, Henry Alonso Myers and Alex Kurtzman. "We're deeply grateful to Paramount+ for the chance to complete our five-season mission, just as we envisioned it, alongside our extraordinary cast and crew. And to the passionate fans who've boldly joined us on this journey - THANK YOU. With three more spectacular seasons ahead for you to see and enjoy, this adventure is far from over."
A spin-off of 'Star Trek: Discovery,' the series is set a decade before Captain Kirk boarded the U.S.S. Enterprise, and follows Captain Christopher Pike, Science Officer Spock, and Number One exploring new worlds around the galaxy aboard the famed starship.

@Laurent, agreed.
Section 31 was a joke. They had an opportunity, and the blew it big time.
ST:LGBTQ was sickening. Completely off the deep end. No wonder the founding member of the Federation, and the Federation itself attrited and was gone by the 30th century.
The musical episode was... different. Seriously ?!?! Boy-Band Klingons. Gotta keep in mind, if an alien can affect the minds of the crew to make them... psychotic, murderous, amorous, drunk, sleep, or amnesiatic... musical isn't that much of a stretch. Although it should have all been A Cappella.
The cartoon episode... well, Lower Decks was canon, and there was The Animated Series back in '73 with the LEGIT characters. It was canon too.
I *HATE* what they're doing to Christine Chapel. She is SOOOO NOT the character on ST:TOS.
I liked Strange New Worlds Season 1 and most of the actors on it but the writing has been atrocious and Spock is a mockery of himself.
