The dramedy is ending after four seasons.

Word is out that USA Network has cancelled Resident Alien after four seasons. The news comes with three episodes remaining in the dramedy's now-final season, with its August 8 episode, aptly titled "The End Is Here," serving as the series finale.
"I knew going into it that this was likely going to be our final season," creator Chris Sheridan told TV Insider. "Creatively, that was exciting because I knew we could spend the time wrapping up some storylines and driving toward an ending. I'm so proud of how good Season 4 is and especially proud that we were able to finish as strongly as we did, with a finale that is probably my favorite episode of the series."
Based on the Dark Horse comic of the same name, Resident Alien follows an alien named Harry that has crash landed on Earth with a mission to kill all humans. He decides to pass himself off as a small-town doctor to mix in among the people, but things get tricky when he gets pulled into solving a local murder and realizes he needs to assimilate further into his new surroundings. As he does this, Harry starts to wrestle with the moral dilemma of his mission and begins wondering if humans might be worth saving.

The producers obviously knew the end was coming. They gave the series a proper sendoff.
Kudos to the cast and writers. It was one of the few shows around today where I actually laughed out loud several times per episode. The actors enjoyed taking the silliness to the max. If the series had taken itself seriously it would have belly-flopped. On top of the comedy, it managed to be one of the most wicked commentaries about our times.
Alan Tudyk should get a comedy series lead actor Emmy, but it won't happen.

At least we got four seasons. Few series last these days. And this was a good one.

An old statistic but:
"As of 2023, there were approximately 500 original scripted TV series aired in the U.S., which includes dramas, comedies, and limited series. This number reflects a decrease from previous years due to various industry factors, including strikes affecting production."
Pick your current favorite 5. The odds are terrible.
Yes everyone can try to agree on 1%. But not when every show gets viewers requesting a network pick it up.

stages. contracts. locations. plannings.
hey!!! you just got flooberred. now pick up your life, move it two states away, and then restart your stage, your internet, phones, sounding, l;ighting. boom chicks, ..... yeah YOU MORONS. just pick up your life and reactivate it 3 months later in another place.
maybe you could.
but the production team of this show that amounts to minimum 200 people. naw. sure.
somebody else buy it and produce it.
i'm just saying the whole 'CANT ANYONE ELSE BUY IT AND DO IT'

It was nice, at times hilarious. Alan Tudyk is my favourite alien in the universe, what an actor!
