No Season 3 for the medical drama.
March 27, 2026
It is being reported that CBS has cancelled Watson after two seasons. The news comes with six episodes remaining in the medical drama's now-final run. The move isn't a huge surprise, as it was the network's only drama that had not already secured a pickup for next season.
The series got off to a solid start following its early 2025 debut, earning itself an early renewal. But a move to the fall schedule in Season 2 resulted in lower ratings, which likely sealed its fate.
Set six months after the death of Sherlock Holmes at the hands of Moriarty, the show stars Morris Chestnut as Holmes' friend and partner Dr. John Watson, who resumes his medical career as the head of a clinic dedicated to treating rare disorders. Watson can't fully escape his old life, though, as he and Moriarty are set to write their own chapter of a story that has fascinated audiences for more than a century.

I'm a big fan of Morris Chestnut. He was the main character "Rosie" on Rosewood, which also got cancelled. It's disappointing because he is so talented and also very good looking!

Plop and Denise are dead on. Brenda Anderson is insane. Half the time I have no idea what she is trying to convey with her comments. In her defense, she is interesting, even though I read her posts and say "WTF?". P.S. What show are we talking about?

@Denise yeah Brenda is either completely nuts, or is just trolling. If it's the latter, I can respect a good trolling. If she's serious, then I worry for her mental health.
She spent years here complaining that Seth McFarlane got King of the Hill cancelled, and then when King of the Hill was brought back, she said she refused to watch it because the woman who voiced Peggy died. That's not even true, she's obviously still alive. And she complained when the revival got renewed. From her previous posts throughout the years, you'd think she would be happy King of the Hill came back, which is why I think she's just trolling for reaction.

I tried... i really did, like Brenda said, there arent enough black or gay men on television these days, but christ was this a BAD show. Season 2 was a gift that the writers apparently just couldnt salvage. Good riddance...

I'm surprised this lasted two seasons!
I thought this race-swapped show would've kicked the dust last year but it looks like all is right with the world.

I have to say what I'm sure a lot of people are thinking. Brenda, what the h*ll is wrong with you? Why do you have to be so negative all the time? I know you aren't a happy person because of all the negativity and hate that you spew. We are tired of hearing it. I literally said what the f*ck Brenda when I saw your post because you make no sense and say the same thing about every show that gets canceled. Get a life.

Only watched the first two episodes and knew this was not good or going to make it. I would bet the only reason this show got a second season was because the actor was black. I agree with Plop. This actor is good but the role is stupid as was the show. That is why it is no more.

im not surprised. it was an alright show at best. but the overlying story line got really muddy. like someone gets sick, doctors figure it out. person gets better. thats pretty much what it is. sure sherlock returned but seriously idk why they brought him back. sounds like his mysterious case will never be solved for S3 because there is no more after S2.

Well, she's half right (for once). I don't want to see a black Watson. I do like that actor though, but just not in this role.
