A horror television series set in post-apocalyptic times.
Set in the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse, a small group of survivors travel across the United States, which is now a desolate wasteland. Surrounded by hordes of zombies, they search for a new home away from the undead.
Sheriff's deputy Rick Grimes leads the group, as their desperation to survive pushes them to the brink of insanity.

WHY is this show still running?! What is the point of this show really? It's like a soap opera anymore. Perfect show for 90% of America though, doesn't require much thought and tons of violence... No intelligent thinking required.

AMC doesn't cancel shows, they just let them go until they decide to conclude them, so TWD will be around for maybe another 2 years, so get use to it. I have watched it from day one and I know a lot of other folks including myself that they would go on and end it, because it is now becoming, "Whom can take Rick down"...bottom line!

@Sabrina it was the most watched drama in basic cable the most watched American episode was the M*A*S*H* finale and the most watched of all time was the opening for the 2012 Olympics which was watched by 2 billion people

No! The show is NOT CANCELLED PEOPLE! As I live and breathe Andrew Lincoln,Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Merissa McBride, Danai Gurira, Lauren Cohan and last but not least Chandler Riggs, CAN NEVER DIE. 💘 yes, that's one of Daryl's arrows through my heart. I Live for this show like nobodies business. I have. Never been so glued to a show. Would you believe it when I tell you I just started watching the show by accident last fall. I tuned in at the time when Rick first met Morgan and his son. Well, that did it, I DVR'd the whole 4 1/2 seasons....spent a week catching up. Got my sister involved now. I ALWAYS thought zombie shows and movies were really stupid and so I was really taken aback by the creative spectacular special effect's in every show. Now I was just danged lucky AMC had a marathon from the first show to present day. I live about 85 mi. From where you guys are filming. Just to let you know, I will be avail for an unpaid part, in the event you need me. Love you all. Best acting in a show.Should get many many awards. Keep it coming guys and girls 💖

The Walking Dead WAS a great show…. Until after season 3. Then it just became a soap opera with the occasional zombie killing. It really did become boring. Also every character either pissed me off or made me want to punch the tv because they were annoying when they weren't trying to be. This show won't last much longer. It has lost its edge.

P.S. for you crazy haters of this spectacular show! 1st complaint i noticed is that nothing positive happens. REALLY!? in reality how positive would you expect things to be if a real zombie Apocalypse happened? people would not be living in a perfect kuhmbaya world if this happened with all sunshine and roses. i would definitely consider the baby not getting eaten and being alive as a happy and good thing happening. Or when Glen and Maggie reunited. Characters dying even our favorites is realistic keeping them alive would ruin the show, make it boring and unrealistic. the same effect would go for them all being perfectly safe and happy. If you don't like it then don't watch it. It will be your loss. If you want all perfect and always happy show go watch some kiddie cartoons.

HOW ON EARTH ANYBODY WOULD BE SURPRISED THE SHOW CONTINUES BLOWS MY MIND. Fact: the second season premier was the most watched in the history of television. Fact: famous people watch this show; Alice Cooper called into the Talking dead show stating its his favorite show. Not to mention all the famous guest that appear on the talking dead because how much they love the walking dead. in 2010 when this show started it was the only show i watched aside from fox's sunday night animated line up (except bob's burgers, i hate that show) If AMC cancelled this show I'm sure another network would pick it up. Besides AMC would be making a HUGE mistake to end this show, it is by far the best show and likely the most popular. the only people i know of that don't watch it are people who don't like horror movies. Its the only t.v. series that i know of which celebrities watch. Canceling this show would probably start a riot.
