A sci-fi drama set in a border town on Earth in 2046.
In the year 2046, Earth has changed. There are now a multitude of alien races living on the planet, and the landscape has been terraformed beyond recognition. In the border town of Defiance - formerly St. Louis - events start to occur that threaten the fragile peace this town and its residents have fought for.

If Defiance is cancelled I am going to be totally irate...it seems most of the good syfy shows only last 3 to 5 seasons and then are cancelled. If this is cancelled, I think I will be writing off SYFY for good. Once they reel you in, then they drop the hook! The only shows they seem to keep are the bogus ghost shows or zombies and "reality shows".

This along with the two new shows ( Dark matter ) ( Killjoys ) are excellent. This season of Defiance is the best yet. Hope all three come back for more seasons.

I give this show all around "B+" to an "A" rating for story line, writing, special efx, costume and special efx makeup! The characters and interaction with one another are captivating. I have enjoyed this show all seasons. Hate the length of hiatus!

Not consistently entertaining, but enjoyable. The relationship between Irisa and Nolan is excellent.

This is one of the most entertaining, well written science fiction dramas - decent actors and creative story lines. I watched the show initially out of curiosity, am from St Louis, but glad I did. BTW, kudos for the detailed authenticity like the arch interior and elevators, old St Louis union station, references made from that era, etc. Only critique - season 2 more dark-less humorous than season 1 (although there were some really good character moments) Everyone lost something or got shit on in some way- like a never ending bad country western song. Please lighten up Erisa or put her out of her misery. Looking forward to season 3.

Season 1 was good for the most part. Season 2 relied far too much on shock sex for ratings instead of an engaging story. The sex doesn't bother me when it advances the plot, but otherwise I want STORY, not simulated sex. And will someone PLEASE kill off Alak, what an annoying little prick.

Defiance started slow but has developed into a very engaging show with the potential to be brilliant - please give it at least a third season - it deserves to be renewed !

Man.SyFy should take all the money they spent on Helix and spend it on Defiance. Helix was truly AWFUL. CGI awful, acting awful....just literally everything was awful. Please have a Season 3 of Defiance.
