I did not read the book. I thoroughly enjoyed season one. Season two has become just silly. I hope for a wrap up next week. If this show gets a third season I will not watch it.

Love this show and hope there will be a season 3. The first season was good. The second season started out a little questionable, but now I think it has become better than the first season.

Okay, first off to all the people who said they quit halfway through season 2 because the story wasn't going anywhere, phew wow you couldn't be further from reality, if you had stuck around a few episodes after episode 6 you would see just how interesting the story has become, secondly i can understand you people not liking or hating this show and i can understand your desire to not watch it, but to be so gung-ho about getting it cancelled that just seems like your being phallic shaped heads. Now to those running down the writing/acting/directing etc etc etc, kinda like the old saying let those without sin cast the first stone, are you people really that good at writing excellent television yourselves? or do you just enjoy being buttheaded trolls that got nothing better to do than play siskel and ebert on internet forums? honestly if your opinion mattered one bit then you would be making money for being a dick and not just being a dick because it is your nature. If you don't love it then leave it but as your leaving there is not reason to lay explosives to destroy it when you are gone. Let those who enjoy it go on enjoying it, there is no really no reason to call them idiots or make them feel stupid for watching a show just because you didn't like the show or you think that only idiots would like it, you got freedom of speech, that is a right but being an asshole that is a choice, good choice y'all. Maybe the reason it seems so ignorant to you is because the show is just too complex for your simple ego driven minds to follow it so instead of looking stupid for not being able to understand a show that that requires you to think you would rather act like the show is what is stupid and you are too good to watch it and anyone else who watches it is the stupid ones, classic bully behavior make others hurt and look bad so the attention is taken off how big of an ignorant prick you are yourself. Go turn on your t.v. and watch "America's got people with talents that you will never have so watch and live vicariously through them" season 97, then call it the 1800getalife number to vote for your favorite Douchebag and get the hell off the forum of people who actually enjoy the show. If you hate it so much then make like a new parent and cut the umbilical!
all that said i gotta say this, i am a fan of the book big time and i will admit the differences through me for a loop for a while there but once i changed my mind set and looked at the show and the book as two different entities i realized how great and entertaining and through provoking this show really is, it melds drama, comedy, action, adventure and real life into a perfect Under the Dome Stew! and I am hungry enough to eat every last bite.....btw does anyone else notice that the title under the dome seems to be more and more inside the dome during the opening credits in each new episode?

OK. I was excited about the show before it started. I loved the book! But now after the ending of season 2 and it's starting to run thin. It's pulling plot lines (and even some script) from the "been don a thousand times" book. It's time to end it. My vote is for the book's ending. I still feel guilty whenever I see an ant farm!!
Actors are doing a good job with what they are given, but if the series continues on its "redo old plots" vein I fear they may lose the acting kudos they have earned so far.

The show is probably the most badly acted , together with an even more appalling story arc, then anything seen on TV - and that is saying something, as most network TV is utter rubbish.
Should have been cancelled last season but oh wait, the cash cow has got to be milked and so it will continue becoming even more stupid and convoluted.

I find Under the Dome to be very entertaining. TV has gotten so bad, I watch DVD's of classic shows. But, UTD stands as a great show. I watch it weekly. I never miss an episode, and for me that is saying something because with the exception of a few shows, I don't watch regular TV anymore. Under the Dome consistently delivers quality shows. Are the stories a little different than S.King would have done? The answer is a wholehearted yes. But, that does not take away from the premiss or the story. Every adaptation has its differences. As a huge fan of S. King, I say, I am happy and proud to watch this show weekly. Please renew it for a third season.

And for those comparing the TV Show to the book, here is what Stephen King has commented on regarding the show:
=====================================================
On June 27, 2013, Stephen King acknowledged that "the TV version of Under the Dome varies considerably from the book version", and called the series "very good" while commenting on some of those differences:[2]
[If] you look closely, you'll see that most of my characters are still there, although some have been combined and others have changed jobs. That's also true of the big stuff, like the supermarket riot, the reason for all that propane storage, and the book's thematic concerns with diminishing resources. Many of the changes wrought by Brian K. Vaughan and his team of writers have been of necessity, and I approved of them wholeheartedly. Some have been occasioned by their plan to keep the Dome in place over Chester's Mill for months instead of little more than a week, as is the case in the book. Other story modifications are slotting into place because the writers have completely re-imagined the source of the Dome.

FYI -
For Season 1 : Vaughan was hired to adapt the novel as a series
For Season 2 : The first episode was actually written by Stephen King.
So before you start bashing the second season, read up on your facts.
I personally enjoy the show, and like the slow progress. I cannot count how many times networks have cancelled a show long before characters could be developed and make a show into a long running series.

You people just do not get it. If you were to forget about the book and let the series stand on it's own, you would realize that it is entertaining. I am watching live every week, even when I can DVR it. I never watch anything live anymore, but I will watch this live. And yes, I loved the book, I even read it when it first came out. But you have to realize that if they did the book word for word and scene by scene, then all you are getting is the same thing. Let it play out. How can anyone seriously think this show is boring??? The characters have evolved over their experience in the dome and they had to have it go outside the dome at one point or the show would be over. Of course they have to have freaky storms and all that. I mean, is this supposed to be a true story??? Just enjoy it for what it is and stop comparing it to the book.
