A sci-fi drama based on the Stephen King novel of the same name.
In the near future, the residents of Chester's Mill find themselves cut off from the rest of the world when a mysterious, impenetrable barrier surrounds their town. While panic fills the streets, a small group of people attempt to maintain order and uncover the truth behind the phenomenon - including how to escape from it.

I read this book long before I found out it was to be a series. So, I re-read it as I had really forgotten a lot. Frankly, the book and the show do not seem alike hardly at all. The book was much better. I also timed the commercials with the amount of actual story line last time I watched, There were more commercial minutes that story. I forgot to watch the last episode. Probably won't bother watching more........just to many commercials and they don't really follow the story line, dissappointing.

Stephen King is a great writer ...and the first season of this show was interesting ...but now it is just boring.

Oh my god...the characters are really terrible. I like the show but the characters are like wooden statues. Juliet loves Barbie then hates him then loves him...please kill her off. Won't survive as. Series. Pity because it had potential

So correct! The first season was great. This season sucks. Don't know who came up with these new characters, and whose decision it was to eliminate some of the old ones

I love Stephen King's writing. I love most of the movies/TV shows based on his novels. Never heard of or read 'Under the Dome' until I saw the commercials. Got very excited. Have watched every episode, just finished season 2 episode 6. I like to give a show time to develop and let the actors get in their groove, especially when its something new and exciting sounding. I've given this show 19 episodes of my time and I'm calling it quits. The acting of some major characters is still wooden or non-existent. The way everyone is just so excepting of the really bizarre, unnatural and paranormal happenings is hard to take anymore. E.G. Dead girl back in town, the plague, the MOAB, the murders/attempted murders, the freaky storms, etc...
Also the time frames on things. Everyone can seemingly get anywhere in a few minutes. In S2 E6 Big Jim and some townies get the materials for and assemble a windmill to disperse water over the ground to get the dust to settle in what seemed to be just minutes. Not only does this ONE windmill work (on the ENTIRE area under the dome) but it stopped the dust storm almost instantly. THAT is one magical windmill! IDK, maybe it was the will of the dome that made it happen that way. Also can't stand how everyone wants to keep all these weird things they discovered to themselves instead of bringing everyone in on it to find a solution. Instead its stuff like, "Okay, we're trapped under this dome thats going to kill us at some point and we found this weird egg thing in a mini dome that obviously has something to do with it, but lets not tell anyone, lets experiment with it ourselves even after it almost kills us with seizures." Thats just one of many examples. Truly sorry to those who still love the show, like I said, I've given it 19 episodes to pull me in, but its failed. This really sucks because the premise is great. I'll go get the book at least.

Terrible. Seriously should have been a mini series. Cast is horrible and the show is boring now. Cancel it!!!

Watched season 1. Read the book over the winter. Excellent book, S King is a great writer. Started watching season 2. Very boring, the network should have done the book in 1 season. Won't watch this again!
