A comedy following 9-year-old genius Sheldon Cooper growing up in East Texas.
Get to know The Big Bang Theory's Sheldon Cooper in his childhood years, growing up in East Texas at age 9. At a young age, having an advanced mathematical and scientific mind isn't necessarily helpful when living in a town where football and church get all the attention. Vulnerable, gifted and naïve, Sheldon is embarking on his awkward journey toward the man he will become.

Jim Parsons as an adult is annoying enough!! The truth is that an annoying little tike with a know-it-all complex would be cute for five minutes. Most geniuses are good at one thing and does that make them smarter than other people?? I liked Jim parsons for the first few seasons and then realized to the actors this show is all about the huge payday alone and not about the challenges alone..M*A*S*H was on for 12 seasons but stunk up the tv screen for the last 7 seasons!! Young Sheldon is an un-qualified TURD!!

it is rated 2.1 so go figure one pilot epp and it has a full season. typical network mucky mucks on crack flying in private jets just pushing a button and there you have it a full season. MKL@ML

This is a cute show. And it did pretty well so far. I like tbbt and find it still to be good. Why because they characters have changed over time. Great stuff and it will be around for as long the cast wants to do it. Or if it ever slows down.

To Rosie and those who can't stand the Sheldon character as an adult or child ... I totally understand. It's just a strong non-connection with this character that make you dislike Sheldon's unique behavior and thoughts. Sheldon suffers from is very HIGH INTELLIGENCE and IQ. I say suffer because people like him are not liked, are bullied and made fun of JUST because others can't understand them on their level. Most people of less intelligence see people like Sheldon as threats to their own credibility and sensibility. If you can't appreciate who he is and what unique ideas he has, it's very easy to NOT turn on his channel so you won't upset yourself.

I agree with Dan and I really enjoyed TBBT spin-off. Sheldon is a hoot on TBBT, no reason to think he'd be any different as a child. I hope this show goes far...it's cute and funny too!

I agree with Rosie. Adult Sheldon is unbearable to watch.
I would avoid such a person in real life.
But just in case the fruit does fall far from the tree, I might watch the pilot.

Sounds like CBS is jumping the shark...TBB has had a great run with an original product & premise in the dying era of the predictable, cardboard-cutout formulated, stale sitcom. alas, its end is near, and CBS hopes to sap a couple more seasons...Must mean they don't have many fresh ideas coming....

As a "Big Bang" fan who considers Sheldon to be my favorite character, I say "Why not give it a try?"
