Kat is a 39-year-old single woman who struggles every day against society and her own mother to prove that she can still live a happy and fulfilling life despite not having a partner. Which is why she spent all her savings to open a cat café in Louisville, Kentucky.
Her mother views her daughter's single-hood as her own personal failure, but Kat is determined to chart her own course to happiness. And while Kat is fine with her independence, her plans to be forever single hit a snag when her former crush and good friend returns to town and works as a bartender at the piano bar across the street.

Huge Mayim Bialik fan but.....
Call Me Kat = Call me Cancelled
I had the series recording on DVR and tried watching the first 4 episodes but was not been able to get thru a single episode. This show does not translate to the American audience. I am personally embarrassed for her. Please cancel this and put Mayim Bialik in something watchable.
P.S. I did fast forward to the ending just to see the waving that is talked about and OMG....so pitiful and hard to watch. Just unbearable.
Namely, that British humor doesn't translate well to the US.
It wasn't until the second season of 'The Office' that the writers decided to go into a version suitable for the US that the show took off.
'Call Me Kat' deserves a second season and let's hope the writers find their footing.
