The dysfunctional family drama will continue for a third season.
February 1, 2012
Showtime announced today that Shameless will be returning for a third season. The William H. Macy-led series debuted just over a year ago, and just last month began airing Season 2. Its ratings have remained solid over its run, improving 30% in its current season versus its first, currently averaging 4.75 million total weekly viewers (including On Demand, replays, and DVR).
There is no word on the number of episodes ordered for Season 3 of Shameless, but with each of its first two seasons getting orders for 12, that same number is expected again.

I haven't missed a show since it first started. I think this is what is happening in many families, some real funny and some real sad. Great acting!!

Great news I love this show. Shameless is wacky and off the wall but it is totally possible to live like this! William H Macy is fantastic.
