No Season 4 for the comedy sequel.
January 4, 2017
It's official - Girl Meets World will be ending its run after three seasons. The cancellation was announced this evening on the show writers' Twitter account, ending days of speculation after cast member Rider Strong alluded to the show ending over the weekend.
"It is with incredible pride in our work and complete sadness that things end, and I report to this wonderful audience that our show is over", the writers wrote in the first of a series of tweets. "I just officially got the call, and would like to thank this audience for its incredible love and loyalty."
Girl Meets World premiered in 2014 as a sequel to the popular 90's sitcom Boy Meets World, which ended its run 16 years ago. The half-hour comedy followed Corey and Topanga's daughter Riley and her best friend Maya, who try their best to navigate all the twists and turns that come along with growing up into their teenage years.
Three episodes are scheduled to air in January before Girl Meets World signs off for good. Look for the series finale, aptly titled Girl Meets Goodbye, on January 20.

The world is darker because a show is ending? Wow. Anyways, if you want a long running show, don't pitch it to Disney channel or Nickelodeon. They pull the plug once the girls age out, and by those channel's standards, they age out at about 17 or so. Go to a channel with real standards.

Was this show to expensive? Does Disney have a lot of other shows it wants to show? Why cancel this? It does not seem like it is too expensive a show to run versus the viewership it has. If it it is a matter of time restraints, maybe don't show old episodes of Jessie or Good Luck Charlie.

This is disappointing. This show should have gotten a 4th season. The mindless shows need to go on Disney, like bunk' and bizarvark. I would rather see a show with heart and hope especially in the climate of America. The world just got darker, Disney.
Just sad

This is just sad, one of my favorite TV shows and now it's gone. I'm so tired of investing time into a TV show to only see it get cancelled I can only hope Netflix or Hulu picks this up and laughs in Disney's face

I've never seen BMW because I wasn't born at the time but this is my only chance of feeling like I have! This show has helped me with life lessons and I agree with Melissa B and Jasmine. My dream was to meet the cast of GMW I also have a fan club at school! But who else make as good of a show as this cast! Their friendship has taught me so many lessons in life and brought me and my best friend together as we face challenges in life we know it is possible to stay together, and it's all because of this show! Me and her have watched every episode together and now that your taking it away from kids in the world is terrible! And this, this is the only thing that I watch from Disney channel so you are going to lose money and money is the only thing you care about! This is the worst feeling I've ever had and it's because of you DISNEY! ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜

I agree with mellisa b and rodger shimp that this decision by Disney is awful !!! GMW is the best program on Disney channel by far. the show seemed realistic and silly at the same time, which is very hard to pull off. there are enough unfunny comedies on tv, yet this charming and funny show gets dumped. Disney would rather have shows with kids who are time travelers or secret agents than have something with meaning and substance.shame on you Disney !!!

Disney made a stupid and ridiculous decision! This is the best show they have with the best ratings! I watch every week and reruns too! It has a great cast and great lessons for everyone. Great for kids. Big mistake! I hope Netflix picks it up. #SaveGirl!eersWorld
